Something’s going on with Kat.
And everyone fucking knows it.
If this were another time or place, maybe Rue’d have more capacity to dig through the changes, instead of observing them, passively, off to the side. How her hair style changes from that blunt cut cuteness to something more ruffled and edgy. How suddenly her make up looks like she’s ripping Maddy’s style, but more goth, to which, hey girl, rhinestones are a GIRL’S BEST FRIEND. And then there’s the clothes, like, she raided Forever 21 and got away with it, but really it’s like she’s rolling up in Torrid and some stuff she got from the sex shop because she looks like she wants to suck your blood or some shit, but hey if it works for her...
But no, that’s kind of the superficial crap, the paint job on a relic that’s been forgotten in time. What’s really making Kat the new Kat is her attitude, the way that she isn’t faking it anymore. Maybe that’s what it is... she made it. She made that happen for her, the moment she saw that video spread, how everyone’s seen it... I mean, the party was a mess and the guy’s a fucking asshole still for uploading it, and yeah it’s child porn, so really it’s not fair to say that Kat’s this or that because of that video, but it really did mark the moment that she seemed to pivot to being... well.
“I know you don’t really need me to say it but. You look good, Kat.” they’re at another party, another place to dress up and play pretend, and the drugs are there, a bottle of Henny in her palm. Doesn’t ask about the money it cost for the new clothes because she knows that shit’s TOUCHY, and Rue can say she’s done some shitty shit just to get what she needs in a moment where she’s hurting. But she’s trying to be good, to care about others and not just about that sweet euphoria that comes in 2 seconds of nothing, a twitchy, nervous smile on her lips. “Wanna drink?”
@raisedtough liked for a euphoria stater
