               he’d had enough. so what if he was smaller than the others ! so what if he got spooked easily ! so what if he had to work harder to measure up to the weight everyone else was pulling ! he was just as worthy of reaching paradise as the rest of them, it just hadn’t hit until now. ❝ —i wish you’d... i wish you’d get off my back ! ❞

   Muscles howled as he pulled himself to shore, but he forced himself to move by putting one muddy paw in front of the other. Oh no, he couldn’t just STOP. Bolt knew his family had to be worried sick. 

    He was SWEPT away by violent waters caused by a severe storm earlier. At least Mittens was safe - he had saved her before the canine slipped and fell back into the strong current. Bolt was taken far downstream before something was casted to help him back onto shore. It was hard to make out who threw it, but he swore he saw something flicker in the brush. 

   After Bolt shook the water off from head to tail, he continued to remain high on alert. The former actor knew he wasn’t alone. “Show yourself!” The dog demanded as his eyes remained watchful.  There was no knowing who saved him. The only evidence was the smell of another canine. Despite that, he knew he better be careful. Tiredness already ached deep in his being,  but he wasn’t going to show that off.

  “Back up, back up.  They took a what?”  Granted, it’s not the weirdest thing he’s heard, but it’s probably up there.  “A flower girl?”

Cigarette was inhaled, then exhaled with a short laugh. “I try to be a good person, I really do. Honest.” But there was a devious smile and wildness in her eyes. She pushed off the cold brick wall, started to walk backwards with hands in pockets and dark green eyes on Tsume. “But really, you ever seen me try to pull off anything saintly?” A pause. “C’mon. I know a place where you can grab something to eat to get that real human experience.”

   “ UWAAH--!” Tohru let out a loud shriek as she tripped over something falling flat on her face. Oh geez. Just what did she fall over? Looking back she noticed a figure there. Wait-- did she trip over someone?! “Aahhh! I’m sorry! I’m so sorry!” Frantically she apologized, not quite sure who or what she was apologizing to. “Are you okay?!”

“Fine-can you even have this?”  He’s halfway to dropping the dumpling before realizing he has no idea if it could accidentally poison the wolf.  “I mean, it’s amazing we haven’t poisoned someone yet.  There’s no space food guide to what’ll kill you.  Or how it affects other species.”  Shiro shoves the rest of the bowl in his mouth without hesitation.  It’s partially instinct, part he doesn’t want a certain brown canine stealing his food.
