#470 Mancity score 10 goals in 2 games in the week, top EPL leaderboard; All top teams baring Athletico Madrid win in UEFA champions league; Barca move 7 ahead of Real by winning a thriller against Getafe; PV Sindhu - Nozomi Okuhara final AGAIN , this time in Korean open Super Series; India fight brilliantly to keep Davis cup tie alive which is now at 1-1 after opening day matches and more..:-)

UEFA champions league kicked off with first round league matches. Most of the matches was won by favorites. MANU thrashed Basel 3-0 thanks to goals by Fellaini, Kukaku and Rashford. Bayern Munich beat RSC Anderlecht by similar margin. PSG who is boosted by signing of Neymar thrashed Celtic 6-0. Barcelona avenged last season's defeat to Juventus by a clinical 3-0 win against them. Messi scored 2 goals for Barca. Liverpool and Athletico Madrid were held to draw in their respective matches by Sevilla and Roma respectively. MAn City thrashed Feyenoord 4-0. Real Madrid also won by 3-0 margin against Apoel Nicosia. Like Messi, Ronaldo also scored 2 goals.

In EPL, Man City thrashed Watford 6-0 to move top of leaderboard. Aguero continued his brilliant run with a hatrick. So they have scored 10 goals and didnt concede any in 2 matches this week. Thats some serious run of form. Liverpool manage just a draw against Burnley even through they had 35 shots at goal. In La Liga, Barcelona were down 0-1 in poor first half against Getafe. But 2nd half was all Barca as equalled via Denis Suarez. Messi then helped Paulinho which ensured Barca went into the lead with just 6 minutes left.Barca were tested in injury time but won the thriller 2-1.

PV Sindhu continued her golden run in Korean Open Super Series. She ousted Minatsu Mitani of Japan 21-19, 16-21, 21-10 in QF and World No. 7 China's He Bingjiao 21-10, 17-21, 21-16 in a match that lasted an hour and six minutes. In SF. She was leading by a set and 11-6 in 2nd before she lost steam. But she brought her A game back in final game to setup rematch of World Championship finals. She would meet Nozomi Okuhara of Japan who beat compatriot Yamaguchi.

In Davis cup, India clashed with Canada. With raonic injured, Canada didnt have firepower but it was compensated with rise of Shapovalov. Ramanthan faced Brayden Schnur in first match which Indian won in 4 sets after being 1 set down. Indian won it 5-7 7-6(4) 7-5 7-5 in tense battle. Yuki was down by 2 sets though was broken only 1 once in first 2 sets. But he didnt get any break point on Shapovalov's serve. Yuki won the battle in 3rd set tiebreaker. After being down by a match point he won the tiebreaker 8-6. He won 4ths et 6-4 to tie the match. But just when it looked like upset was on cards, Shapovalov outclased Yuki in final set 6-1. Yuki eventually lost 6-7 4-6 7-6 6-4 1-6. Yuki is playing well this yera but need to get a bit killer instinct in his game. He lost it mentally in final set. India have a mountain to climb now. They need to win 2 of remianing 3 matches. Ramanthan beating Shapovalov would be a bit too much to ask for. So India need to beat Canada in doubles where host Canada are favorites and then expect Yuki to beat Brayden Schnur. Tough 2 days ahead. But Indian singles players have show much more fight in Davis cup world group playoff tie than in the past.Ramanthan saved 15 of 18 break points which is a fact that proves that.

Well Done #Ramanathan Wish You All The Best For Future... #ManyMoreToCome
