Deathloop (2021)
I'm working on my final paper for my liturgy class and, despite being so interested in liturgy, I'm struggling. Over the course of the semester this professor has fought me on:
Whether Catholic dioceses are reporting an increase in conversions (they have)
Whether the Nicene Creed is used as a litmus test to measure whether a sect is to be understood as Christian (the creed is probably the widest used test)
Whether clergy should try to execute the liturgy well and spend enough time preparing to minimize mistakes (they should)
Whether it's acceptable to use the phrase "take seriously" in regards to the liturgy (she said that taking something seriously means rejecting all emotion, which it does not)
Whether the unbaptized should be specifically welcomed to receive Holy Communion (according to our denomination and me, they should not, though I would never deny someone the Eucharist on this ground)
Whether Lutherans have a liturgical tradition (like the third thing Luther did was tour churches and admonish them for doing the Mass wrong)
I know that this list is going to read to strangers as pedantic, but this professor gets so mad and takes such bizarre stances that I've had multiple classmates text me after class sessions to commiserate on the fact that I'm probably the only student who could plan a liturgy at the end of all of this, based solely on personal study. I've also been asked multiple times whether I've done something to piss her off, since her reactions are so blown up. So how do I give her 8-10 pages on liturgy that won't be taken as somehow a personal attack on her??
I think the reason Project Hail Mary still sticks in my head so much (other than the themes of friendship, seriously, there’s not enough “adult” stories about the power of platonic love) is because Grace is a middle school science teacher. I went into STEM in large parts because of my middle school science teacher. She was my largest inspiration and by far my favorite teacher.
If you had pulled me aside in 6th grade and told me Mrs. O wouldn’t be able to be my teacher anymore because she was helping to stop the sun from dying, I would have 1. Been distraught at the loss of my teacher 2. Would have had 100% confidence in her. She could have done it, badass that she was
I remember drawing an idea for a werehog race car design back then.
This one isn't too far off from what i can remember of it.
I need to lock in and write the 'Vox sick with the flu and being an absolute menace to Angel' fic that has been turning over in my head like a washing machine for the past week but the moment I open docs, my brain crashes out and refuses to actually write anything lol
Oh I am now simply Thinkin' about fluffy Diablo/Inarius, and how royally pissed off this would make Verathiel.
She may support Sanctuary, but it's made pretty clear that Inarius's theft of the Worldstone was deeply painful to her on a personal level. (I don't think it's coincidence that she was used for Diablo's unmaking ritual, but I am also in hyper-mega-blorbos mode rn so. who really knows.)
And I just think. She's already got enough reasons to hate that angel in particular, but if she found out he was snogging the demon who tortured her to the point of breaking, she'd have some choice actions to take.
I think this account has been making me use the word "dude" more. Soos says dude, I am will-soos. the thing is it's mostly just used in my thoughts and sometimes texts, that's it, I don't SAY dude more. I NEVER used to use the word "dude", fuck, dudes, NO, NO, I SAID IT AGAIN, WHAT IS HAPPENING TO ME?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
141 x american reader who chronically packs around a Big Stupid Cup (tm). They don't understand why any civilian would need to tote around 40 oz of water with them 24/7.
Now none of them bother fetching their own drink at home and instead take drags out of whatever their drinking on. And have the audacity to get sideways when the cup is empty.
Cue any of the boys dutifully filling a brightly colored insulated cup, timidly walking up to check with their spouse if that is enough ice before trotting back to fill it up.
