vox angst/possible redemption in which along the way he thinks his current style screams too much like alastor with how similarly dressed they are, and he figures as flashy and eye-catching as it is...it doesn't feel like it's him. (ᵒʳ ˢᵒᵐᵉᵗʰⁱⁿᵍ ⁱᵈᵏ ˡᵉᵗ ᵐᵉ ˡᵃⁿᵈ) he has this moment maybe of reflecting on his old tv heads in his office and then maybe we get a peek into his wardrobe and all the outfits he's worn throughout the years (maybe not all of them, but he can't deny a few velvette made really struck a chord with him). he finds outfits from his days as a weatherman (or maybe replicas idk) and finds the simplicity of the fit feels more natural. but then he sees the outfit he wore in the flashback we see with alastor and he lingers over it for a few moments before taking it off the hanger and bringing it out. he hasn't worn anything remotely similar to this in decades, and it feels almost surreal to see it again. he puts it on and poses in his full-body mirror, back turned and taking in how it fits him, but he also can't help but notice even as he's facing away/over his shoulder - how different he looks with it on now that he has a flat tv for a head. he turns to face his reflection fully and there's just this pause. the outfit transports him back to a different time. he doesn't see this powerful overlord he's become, he sees this vulnerable and naive young demon trying to find his footing in hell. he sees someone who is scared to be on his own, sees someone who puts his trust far too easily in others and gets taken advantage of or hurt because of it. he sees weakness, someone inferior, a nobody. maybe we get an inner monologue of him trying to prove his worth to himself, battling those inner demons and insisting he's accomplished great things, and his thoughts shutting him down (i.e. idk family disappointment, alastor leaving, hell turning against him, everything ends in failure, etc) maybe even? possibly? an identity crisis? how he's been chasing this need to feel like a winner that maybe...he lost part of himself along the way. he thinks maybe all he's become is nothing more but a failure. maybe that's all he ever was. but maybe...that can change?
iDK tl;dr vox puts on an old outfit and it brings him back to the past when his heart got broken and it triggers a lot of self-doubt and insecurity, making him spiral and question who he is.
