ive been thinking about a customer in our booth who complimented me. Their sentence is stuck in my head. Its such a confidence boost and honestly made me realize how far i've come. I dont know why but theres something that made my work feel validated....seen...feel worth it.
I know the artist alley market is such a hard market to tap in to, especially with my style and subject...I thought no one would buy my large prints. To my surprise a customer went up to me and pointed out MY art works. I'm in an artist circle, I know style is subjective but also part of me sometimes feel insecure because my work is doesnt sell or i feel its shit but that day I felt seen. It just felt like I'm doing something right that everything is worth it in the end of the day. I shouldnt be relying on their comment but its one of the pillars on why I think I will still continue to create and sell in the market. Its a long shot and I still have so many changes to do to my work, not just for them but also to me because I enjoy what I'm doing.
Thank you to that person. I really appreciate the comment they made.
(Vibrating at the approximate speed of light) @solarishashernoseinabook its ur lucky day
So basically to explain my lore
Nature is a vast unknowable being that is kind of god but is just a bit too big and eldritch to truly be a deity, if that makes sense? So it conceived of a series of creations called Seers that embody aspects of nature and channel its power. They all turn into animal hybrids, both prey and predator in order to maintain balance. They could also control their respective animals with their mind.
In addition to these, nature made the dragon, who embodies destruction on a vast scale, which makes sense. Nature can be wildly destructive for no apparent reason, which is why the dragon exists. However, setting a massive human/dragon hybrid loose and the settling back caused a lot of trouble for the other Seers, because the dragon wasnt mindlessly destructive, she was a person, and she wanted to use her power to destroy pretty much everything, but especially the other Seers.
So long story short, big battle, bear lady tragically dies and everyone else unites to defeat the bad guy.
So now we've got a bit of a situation since all of those dead folks are now worshiped as gods (since they basically were) and the Good Guys have their own religion where their power is passed down to others, the specialest dudes pretty much, etc. Meamwhile the dragon has her OWN religion, and she ALSO passes down her powers, which shouldnt be as big of a problem but it is. Because.
The dragon powers are WAAY more strong that any other magic, and they hate the Good Guys.
Anyway these two religions clash and the dragon side comes out on top, all the Seer get murked Revenge of the Sith style, and thats where the story proper starts.
Also there are pirates. A short, angry pirate queen who does not take shit. Also, fyi, this is the same story where I was writing an asexual character!
There are some things that have been keeping me busy the past few days which I’ll update on later, but I just wanna mention for now since April Fools is coming up: This blog is 100% safe from screamer/jumpscare links/pranks. I will never, ever do that kind of prank to those of you following my blog. Personally, jumpscares can be fun for me, but only when I’m actually playing or watching some horror-based stuff that I go looking for. Even then, I don’t go around posting them to mislead people into seeing them when they’re not looking for it either. If I ever do post something like that, I’ll stick an obvious warning somewhere and then in the tags.
tldr: No jumpscaring pranks will be on this blog.
If you’d like to, reblog this as well to let your own followers know your blog is safe from that too.
I will purge that light in you…with darkness!
