Financial challenges

As a nursing student, we face various challenges. The topic of this week’s nursing student challenge is Finance. The demands of being in an accelerated nursing program, leaves very little room for an occupation. In fact, the program actually suggests that students devote the entirety of their time to school while discouraging students from working. I actually quit my job when the program started. Although I do not regret the decision, not having a paycheck deposited every two weeks sucks. that being said, pursing an education in nursing is expensive. Apart from the 20 grand tuition per semester, here are 3 basic expenses students have:

Textbooks. Not only must we purchase textbooks that are pricy because professors demand the latest editions, but we must also buy the corresponding coursepoints (biggest scam ever).

Uniforms. Who knew nursing shoes would be $80?

Laptop. Because professors rather give tests online to save them the trouble of manually grading.

As you can imagine, the financial challenges of being a nursing student can be distressing. Can’t wait to see how much money I will be forced to spend next semester.
