38. How do you nail voice in your books?

i write one bad draft where the voice sounds too much like the voice of the last character i was writing and by the end of that draft I have the new characters figured out enough to adjust. (or. with Nadia it is just a Constant Struggle. Some characters are easier than others. My boy pov characters? are? easier? idk? that was an unexpected thing to discover) 

40. Do you look up to any of your writer buddies?

37. Do you ever write long handed or do you prefer to type everything?

Oh gosh, I’ve completely lost the ability to write longhand, it’s awful. Granted, I was never good at it, but now that I can rely on my computer for everything I’m super not good at it. (One time someone at work asked if I was writing in code.) Though it just occurred to me the other day that if I ever want that book launch of my dreams, I need a legible signature. Well. I have time to practice.42. How many drafts do you usually write before you feel satisfied?The benefit of being a menace of a self-editor is that I have pretty clean first drafts, but I probably start to feel good around the 3rd or 4th? I feel happier with every new draft, though, especially if I’ve gotten good suggestions from betas. I just LOVE REVISION.52. Who do you write for?Oooh… this is such a good, tough question. I guess the dream is for someone to read something I wrote and feel understood? There have been so many times that a story helped me sort out things I was too afraid to say out loud. If someone picks up one of my stories and feels like they’ve been heard, then I will have paid that forward.writing ask meme!
