Okay okay okay …… so this afternoon I was working my side hustle and I had to meet someone in the “bad” part of town, and while I was sitting there jamming to my playlist, this old lady taps on my window. I rolled it down and she asked me who I was listening to, and at first I thought I misunderstood her, and she goes, “No, I need to know who that is because it’s good music and I like rap and hip hop as much as anybody, but I really like this music because it sounds like real music,” and in that moment, an old lady of about 70 or 80yrs old completely blew my mind. I sometimes forget that literally anybody can be genuinely interested in anything, despite their age. I really needed that reminder today
I found a pen & paper and wrote the name of the song and artist down (ngl, at first I asked if I could airdrop it) and gave it to her. I tried to offer her some money, but she was like, “I live right there. (pointing down the street) That’s my house. I own it. I don’t want your money, I just wanted to know who sang that song - it’s good music.”
I wish more old people rocked as much as her. She was cool

I love this bookmark! This is “Spore” by Ramona Falls as I see it because of synesthesia, a condition that impacts sensory input and can cause music to me see as well as heard!
