i just found this picture and like. guys. i’m so not okay about this. the LIGHTING. the way they’re looking at each other. he’s so in love with her it’s so cute. she just seems so confused to me ngl like denying that she wants him, wants rand rather than the dragon reborn yk (don’t @ me for any of this im still a wot noob). the light behind him, the bringer of light. but all we can see of him is covered in the same lighting as her. pretty boy is so gone on her. as well he should be. the darkness is all around him but still the light is there, shining on him. honestly i can see him going over to the dark for her, if moiraine hadn’t interrupted her whole aol sex weave thing and she’d been able to tell him who she was on her own terms. this pic just seems to me what they could have been, in another timeline. he’d stay loyal to her as long as she was honest with him and stayed by his side. which is her endgame, ruling at his side. she was forced to push down everything soft about her, to destroy mierin and become lanfear, become the stuff of legends. but with him she isn’t mierin and she isn’t lanfear, she is selene. someone in between the wunderkind who lost everything drilling the bore and the monster who’d stop at nothing to get her love back. someone who can give and take, push and pull.

they could have been two people in love, but the light demanded a leader, and every great story needs its villain.
