Mark your calendars, Punk Island is returning for our 11th year and will be back at the pinnacle of summer music fests in NYC- Randall's Island. Saturday June 23, 2018 10am-8pm BE THERE! And that's right, we said SATURDAY! For the first time in several years, we are back on a Saturday. You asked, we listened! • • We are now accepting submissions, if you are interested in playing the festival, please read the following, and send in your info for consideration: • • Please send info on your band with links to your music (we will not consider submissions that don’t have music attached) to [email protected] between now and April 6th. Tell us about yourselves and why you want to play Punk Island. Pics and videos are cool too if you have them. We do not accept submissions via social media, use this email address for all submissions or contact regarding the fest. • • We will consider submissions from bands who have not played the fest first and then look to submissions from bands that have played in previous years. This doesn't mean you're automatically in if you've never played or that you won't play if you played a while back. • • This *should* be obvious BUT in case it’s not, if you are a band that has racist/sexist/queerphobic/misogynist/right wing or otherwise fucked up and backwards lyrics/ideas/art etc do us a favor and don’t waste our time. Don’t submit, we don’t want to book you. • • Be patient, we will try to get back to everyone who sends stuff in but we are all people who have lives, jobs, and many obligations outside of this festival. It is a labor of love and we all do our best! • • If your band gets picked or it doesn’t, know that it is not personal, it never is! There are only so many slots available and we get 2-3 times the amount of submissions in every year vs available slots.
