Ward was exhausted. His plane ride had been a little rough; planes were never good for his back either. Overall it was a good exhausted though, he felt better than he had maybe ever and now he got to go home to Danny and spend endless nights curled up and...happy? What more could he ask for?
He heard Danny in presumably the bath, taking his jacket off and knocking before heading in. Danny looked like shit but Ward maintained composure. God, it hurt so badly to see Danny in such a state, he couldn’t help his concern. “Come on, Glowworm,“ he murmured affectionately to the other man, kissing his temple after grabbing the first aid kit and dampening a washcloth, “Let’s fix you up, we can get back in here when we’re done.”
Ward helped Danny out of the bath, wrapping a towel and then an arm around him and practically holding him up. He’d been working out, so it was easy--not that Danny was too heavy to begin with. “I know you’re okay. Just let me take a look anyway,” he said, keeping Danny close. When they reached their bed, Ward kissed him on the lips and got to work without skipping a beat, “I couldn’t wait to see you, I left earlier than I planned.” He smiled as he dabbed at Danny’s jaw, his hand moving to carefully run his fingers through Danny’s hair, “I missed you. I’m glad you’re here.”
