“But I am a demon.” He states almost helplessly. As if that’s supposed to mean so very much on its own; and it does, to another demon. But he doesn’t know how to say it, how to make it understood--
He’d left, yes. Technically. Physically. He’d managed to find his way to the human world and live rather comfortably. But by his very nature, his very existence, there is no escaping, no freedom.
“If I am to be... reclaimed by Hell, then I cannot refuse.” By his mother, by whoever rules; independently-minded as he may be, individually he is powerless. “I cannot fight. I cannot stay. I am not human. I will always be-- Tethered.”
