Honestly, it was several different things that made me snap (lmao) but lots of love to all the authors who put their all into fics, you are appreciated, no matter what entitled, spoiled, randoms on the internet may say <3
to people who value their own opinion so much that they feel the need to express it, even though it’s pointless and will only serve to hurt someone: If you feel so strongly about the fact that you have something to contribute to the fic community, learn to be kind, and then offer your services as a beta.
The majority of authors, particularly experienced authors, have one or more betas (or even a network) who give them solicited constructive criticism. It isn’t that we can take it, it’s just that we don’t want randoms on the internet picking apart a fic that has been crafted with the assistance of a beta whose opinion we value.
