Fun fact: pomegranate has continued to be associated with death in greek culture even now in modern times. We have a desert called "koliva" that has existed since ancient times that we serve at funerals and memorials, and pomegranate is one of the main ingredients. It symbolizes the soul of the dead and the glory of heaven.

Today I was restoring a large outdoor nativity scene with a friend when it got quiet so I tried to fill the void the most normal way I can- a random fact.

It was about a serial killer because I’m super normal.

And then you realise that you have to do some googling and research [obscure niche skillset], even if you're not that interested in it yourself.

And then years later, you still remember random facts about [obscure niche skillset], which come up once in a blue moon in real life, and you can never be honest about how you know so much about [skillset], so you have to lie and be like

"Urrrrg I learned it from the usual place the neurotypicals learn all their useful facts. I read it... on a.... tampon box?"

Remembering that time my dad, who is very academically inclined and extremely well read, was schooling me about a mental disorder where someone thinks the people around them have been replaced with imposters, but he couldn't remember the name. I immediately said, "Oh yeah, Capgras Syndrome."

He looked at me with a mixture of awe and confusion, and asked me how the hell I knew that off the top of my head. I got to explain that I learned it from an anime. He didn't believe me, so I pulled up the clip and showed him.
