Pinned Post!
About me:
She/her, in my 30's. Chronically ill, fic writing, feral housewife. You can call me Noodle.
What to expect: (This is my only blog, so everything is here.)
The thing I post the most:
The Legend of Zelda games, specifically Zelink (I like all iterations, but am crushing hardest on The Wilds Era Zelink). I post something about Zelda just about every day. I love to scream about the characters, and hype up our awesome fan artists.
My writing: I am currently working on a romantic Zelink long fic, set between Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kindom (almost 150k words in, and we just had the first real hug - yeah it's crockpot level slow burn).
Synopsis: (because I want to show off)
A princess and her knight fell for each other in the shadow of war, but neither ever got the chance to confess their love before the world ended. Zelda has waited a century for the hero she adores to come back, but now he barely remembers her. Link is intrigued by this princess who knows himself better than he does. These long lost friends take a much needed break from their duties to travel, and get reacquainted with this new Hyrule, and each other. Together, they'll remember their shared past, learn to embrace the unfamiliar peace around them, and finally get the chance to have the romance that was stolen from them so long ago.
- My story is very slow slowburn, friends to lovers, eventual mutual pining, with lots of domestic fluff. They cook together and take care of each other, attend local festivals and the beach, and have lots of conversations along the way - mostly sweet, but sometimes angsty. I love my story so much. I can't wait to share it with all of you.
* Although I have an AO3 account now (same name as here - Uwudonoodle), I don't plan on publishing until it is fully written, edited, and polished. I sometimes post about my writing milestones or woes to commiserate with my fellow fic authors. I might post a few snipets here and there, just for fun.
* My husband is my dedicated beta reader, and biggest cheerleader. Any stranger inquiring about wanting to be my beta reader or editor will be assumed to be a scammer or a bot. I will report and block on site.
Asks: I'm going to open up asks for the first time. I'd love to rant about my fic, or do some ask games. Be nice, because I'm a sweetie pie who cries easily.
Things I post most often:
I love memes, and will post anything I find funny or endearing (some will be NSFW).
Any imagery or art that makes me happy. (For art, I try to post directly from the artist's blog, unless it's over 100 years old and can be assumed to be in the public domain.)
If I post anything AI, it's because the devil beguiled me. Please let me know, so I can delete it.
Things I post occasionally:
I'm a beginner adult gamer (PC, Switch)
Anime/animation fan
Movie buff (including old movies)
Love horror (ghost stories and haunted houses - NOT serial killers)
I am compelled by puppets
Fantasy/Sci-fi reader (don't like most literary fiction)
Enjoys theater and musicals
Excited by jellyfish (my profile picture is Tsukimi and Clara from the anime Princess Jellyfish)
Non-toxic romance lover (I swoon when couples are super nice to each other)
Some Ships you might see: (Other than Link and Zelda) I like slow burn, friend to lovers, mutual pining, with implied to overt consent.
Callum and Rayla - Rayllum, from The Dragon Prince
Loid and Yor - Twiyor, from Spy x Family
Ed and Winry - Edwin, Roy and Riza - Royai, from Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood
Aang and Katara - Katang, from Avatar: The Last Airbender (do not mention Zutara unless you're also a hater)
Okabe and Kurisu - from Steins;Gate
Kazehaya and Sawako - from Kimi ni Todoke
Mao Mao and Jinshi - Jinmao, from The Apothecary Diaries
Other stuff:
I love to cook, and will occasionally post recipes I've developed / love.
A deep thought or social commentary will stray across my blog around once or twice a week. I don't engage with politics or current events much here. Feminist, anti-diet culture, and anti-purity culture rants will happen.
I am ex-religious, and rant about it occasionally. If you are religious, we can still be fandom friends, just block #ex religious if you don't want to see it.
After leaving the confines of religion, I now indulge in swearing and discussions of sex. There will be a good amount of both. I will try to tag sex stuff as #nsfw. I will not be tagging swears. If you can't handle the amount of fucks I give, that's fine. You know where the back button is.
I am a dedicated and long winded tagger. It's a pet peeve of mine when someone posts about a fandom I don't know, and might like to get into, but there's either zero tags, or only acronym tags. Because of that, I always tag the full fandom name, so you'll always know what's going on. I try to tag trigger warnings when relevant. If I miss a tag you think I should have, feel free to let me know.
I love tag games, just know that I sometimes get busy, and then forget until the notification is buried. But I still love you for including me.
I believe fandom thrives with reblogs, and dies with likes. So I rarely use the like button, but might spam reblog your posts.
Warning: I try to be really kind to my internet friends. If you're kind back, we can be happy moots. If you choose to actively make my experience here worse, just know that you are not more important than my peace.
A final note: I should mention that I made the decision to stop reading fics within the Zelda / Zelink fandom until I'm finished writing my story. I read a handful of fics early on, and while I loved all of them, I started comparing my beginner writing to others, and got very discouraged. I was also worried I might pick up ideas, scenes, or prose from other's stories, and then just copy them into mine without realizing it. I don't want to steal from anyone else, and I also want to find my own voice as a writer.
So until I feel a little more established, I won't be reading any of your fics, sorry. Once my fic is closer to completion, I very much want to start reading all your stuff and gassing you up in the comments. So when the time comes, I'll welcome your recommendations. In the meantime, I'll cheer you all on from afar.
