Shades... Idk where he comes from but I do know he's supposed to be one of those Shadow clones eggman made once.
So just had the idea of some Villain falling in love for Robert Robertson( THEY ARE DOWN BAD FOR HIM) and once or twice a month kidnaps him in an attempt to marry him
It's like Ice King and Princess Bubblegum kind of dynamic, Robert makes it clear he has no interest in marrying them but the villain is to stupid or insane to realize that, The Z-team always have to be the one to save his ass ( Z team polycule saving the day)
I could also imagine the villain coming up with the goofiest schemes in an attempt to marry him and stop the Z team from interfering
