Sometimes you miss such important things when you're distracted. I've been distracted doing every damn thing since this week started.

Weird.

In my distraction, I randomly picked a book off the internet to mindlessly read every 30 minutes I had free in the past two days.

I ended up choosing this incredibly strange book by this incredibly sinister looking man (to me).

This book wasn't even about what I thought it might be about and I can't even tell you what I thought it might be about -- but it was definitely not what I thought it was about.

Anyway lemme share. .

I read this as a completely blind read and it's cemented my will to not have kids until I'm old enough to read this and not think it sounds more miserable than it is, than our main character, the father, seems.

Some books make you cry at the insane nature of humanity and the fact that it must perpetuate in a way and that it does not seem acceptable to society at large to just live for yourself as opposed to tieing yourself to someone who feels/struggles with an inherent need to judge you or compare you against all their dreams and aspirations like this is some backwards Disney movie and like they were going to get or deserved all the things they ever wanted!

Okay, did this book trigger me? I really have no idea. It did make me see sacrifice in a different light. Also, it made me look through the cracked ceiling at who gets to complain about where their attention is dragged to after fulfilling what they felt to be their life's purpose. Or was it? Maybe it wasn't. Maybe they're duped by sociey at large. Fuck, now the title is making sense to me: A Lie Someone Told You About Yourself! Fuck, that makes sense!!!!! What! The lie someone told you was that you had to do any of this? Anyway.

I don't know - the whole book feels very weird to me. It wasn't written for me tho, and I know that.

I did love the love tho, even when the main character recognized his father lived inside of him and sometimes would burst out in a fit of rage that showed up as a quick and remorseful slap across his child's face. Fucked.

Anyway, it's 1:17 am and none of this probably made any sense. I feel like that's how my week has been and I demand a do-over.
