Late night crack fantasy booking/theory
Not sober, here’s an idea for this whole Shane McMahon situation
So this is completely ridiculous and it can very well disregard a lot of continuity (”Da fuck is that” asks the WWE), and probably doesn’t work and certainly won’t happen, BUT:
WWE likes to recycle storylines that worked in the past, so what if come tomorrow night, Undertaker returns (AHH) but denies wrestling Shane McMahon. He rather joins Shane’s side, agreeing that Vince and the Authority have really fucked up these last, what, 10 years? Undertaker becomes Shane’s main guy, his enforcer, his powerhouse. But that’s not all, Shane continues to get those that have been screwed over onto his side. Who comes back as a way-over face, after getting injured and being sick of the Authority’s failures? Seth Rollins; there’s your young blood. Next, if Shane is to takeover Raw, he’s going to want to have a commissioner, someone who knows the WWE Universe and what it wants well, someone who, even though they can’t fight anymore, still has their heart and soul in the sport. Thus Daniel Bryan joins this new group. Who else has been screwed over? The list is long but who had a profile just pop back up on WWE.com? Seeing this as the chance to see the Authority finally fall and get what was coming to them, CM Punk joins the crew. He doesn’t wrestle, maybe not at first, but he’s there for star power, the shock value, to really get under the Authority’s skin. Fuck if we want to go crazy, we can have one of the first people HHH and Stephanie really fucked over. Maybe in a Shane’s Team VS Vince’s Team Royal Rumble rules match, Chyna makes a shocking return. As far as I’ve heard, the reason she’s not in the HOF is because of her porn career. That excuse isn’t going to fly anymore because of Sunny, it’s a shallow excuse, and the vast majority of the fans don’t care about that and like her for her. She would get an enormous pop, and it might help heal some old wounds, since it seems like Chyna has her life back together and it would really make WWE the talk of the town. It rings of Corporate Ministry, but not quite. This feud would go on for a while, with Undertaker facing Vince’s top guy, John Cena (I know, he’s injured, but eh). Undertaker would win, Shane gets Raw, Smackdown starts to become highly relevant again, and the fight between the two shows begin. They try to snatch the best of NXT, they get more aggressive with how to win views and be the better product. There’s already been multiple signs that WWE is getting braver with what they’re showing, making the PG rating questionable. It seems like they’re going back to rougher, edgier stuff (but probably never Attitude Era again, which is honestly a good thing. Some of it was great but a lot of it would never fly nowadays). The feud would go way into 2017, and how it ends...I have no idea.
So that’s the idea. I literally just typed this out as I was thinking it, so there’s probably a lot of rambling, but there’s the raw of it.
Could you imagine though? How nutty would that be.
