The Star Stone Pokemon

Another tough one, turning fish into a fighting type. Especially cause goldeen and seaking are pretty vanilla pokemon, they just be koi fish. I went through a lot of different variations of the same general idea. While I like what I ended up with, I don’t know if I really get Pokemon from the designs. But If I sit here forever trying to get a real Pokemon design, this project would never continue. I can say I do like the balance of masculine and feminine I was able to strike in “seaking’s” design. I just think it’s neat.

I’m surprised there isn’t a generic fly pokemon already, or at least non that i can remember. I thought the mouth shape of a fly was close enough to horsea and Seadra’s designs, it just made sense to me to pick a fly as inspiration.  If i ever go back and later evolutions you bet ill probably change the designs up to better match whatever Kingdra’s dual typing would be. For now they are just a few simple buggy bois.

Over the years, I fell in love with mimejr’s cute design and idea and it made me really wish Mr Mime was like 4 degrees less creepy. So I took the opportunity to make a cute clown in this redesign.  It did take me a good while to think of an idea for the normal/steel typing. But once I remembered Jack-in-the-box’s I had a clearer idea of what I was doing. A little fun note about this guy, He jingles when he walks.

I love it when a design just falls from the heavens into my lap. :P Magnemite and Magneton’s large singular eyes really made me think of the biblically accurate angels, and the Psychic/Flying was perfect for the design.
