Equality is not erasing the qualities that make people different.

Equality is knowing and understanding the differences between people and not being affected by them and still treating people with all their human rights and dignities. So @theclarab I disagree with you entirely. It is completely necessary statement to single out characteristics of different people. Pointing them out shows pride and empowerment to being yourself and not hiding your differences. With your logic, would you think that our LGBTQ pride celebrations were also unnecessary? And to go on, this is not confined to the LGBTQ movement, but to every movement trying to gain equality.
