63. “ I couldn’t leave without saying goodbye. “
The expedition had been going very well, the group was already at the location, ahead by an entire day. The group had been tasked with trying to find a rare animal called a Razorback Elephant. It was incredibly rare to find one, even their footprints and shedded tusks were a rarity. But, according to the Contractor, this area held a lot of them. Or so they said. So far, there was just a lot of plants, a few ruins, and a lot of dragonflies. No signs of any elephants, razor or normal. Surely they’d find some sort of tracks soon. For now, camp was set up and everyone was getting dinner going. It was actually relaxing to look at. Though Jordyn found it much more interesting to go document and harvest some of the plantlife around the area. “I’ve never seen these before. I’ll make sure to bring some home with me when this is all done.” She hummed to herself as she put some of the seedlings and seeds in the small bags she always carried around. No doubt she would do some research of her own once she got back home. But that wouldn’t be for a while it seems. Yawning as she stood up, she headed back for the campsite to get some grub before sleeping. The others seemed to be enjoying themselves quite a bit, making her smile at them as well as the jokes and anecdotes they were telling.
“Where did you wander off to?” Spinner asked as Jordyn ripped into some bread. “What? I was curious about some plantlife so I took a few samples. If you were worried I was going to leave you guys, don’t. After all, you can’t leave without saying goodbye, yeah?” She asked as she chewed her food. The others seemed confused while the flatcap wearing female just sighed and shook her head. “That…That’s not how that works most of the time.”
