hi! your blog appeared on my dash and i've been scrolling for a long time (your blog is great, i love it by the way) but yeah anyway i came across a selfie and i noticed you had a nose piercing and i've been considering getting one and i just wanted to know are there any MAJOR cons of having one? thnks and sorry if i sound a little bit ignorant
You don’t sound ignorant at all!! I’ve had my nose pierced for almost 3 years now, and I did it myself (which i don’t recommend lmao go somewhere) and the only issue i had was when i first pierced it i didn’t do it properly and the studs kept falling out so once i shoved a cork up my nose and fully pierced it it was fine, and i started wearing a hoop right away (which apparently you’re not supposed to do? Idk), and then i just washed it a couple times a day with salt water, and it healed perfectly. it got infected once maybe a couple months later when i had a cold, and the skin was raised around the hole, but i just used salt water and it went away in a couple days (the same thing happened to my ear once) and it was totally fine.
For me, there have been absolutely zero cons of having it. I’m not conscious of it unless i’m fiddling with it while reading or something, and it has never posed a problem. I am so happy I got my nose pierced and it’s one of my favorite things about me, I love the way it looks and it’s definitely become a part of me, my mom who was against it in the first place even says that now she can’t imagine me without it (i look so weird when i take it out) so if you’re thinking about doing it i say go for it and if you hate it you can always take it out and it’ll close up quickly!! xx
