Why are people dressing up as members of the Klan?

There’s really no pretence; they’re trying to intimidate minorities out of ‘their’ areas - particularly people who are Muslim, Romani, Romanian and Bulgarian (they don’t think there’s a difference between those last three groups). I guess they thought they’re more likely to get away with it because everyone would dismiss it as just a stupid Halloween prank. They were always going to get away with it, though.

If there’s any doubt about the intent, a pig’s head was left on the doorstep of the same Islamic centre last year.In reality, they’re feeling brave because Britain First have been increasingly visible and active in places like Newtownards and Ballymena, leafleting, holding protests and rallies, and harassing minorities.

What happened to your Yorkshire terrier?

Ah, my wee buddy was very sick, with just too many things coming at her for her to be able to take them all on. She had diabetes, pancreatitis, sudden cararacts, cushing’s disease, she had a problem in her utuerus and her kidneys were failing (the vet also thinks she had a small growth on her kidney too). She started showing really severe symptoms overnight last week and so we got her to the emergency vet. She was vomiting, had severe diarrhea, she couldn’t/wouldn’t eat for us or for the vet, she had really laboured breathing, every time she drank water, she brought it straight back up onto the floor. The vets had her as inpatient for four days on a drip and food syringes, but her blood tests were all getting worse. They suggested we bring her home after that for a night to see if she’d eat in a normal environment. She didn’t. And she still wasn’t really engaging or responding to us other than to lie down with us all day and try to sleep. She was staggering, losing her balance, finding it hard to breathe, and on one occassion starting having really aggressive ticks for about half an hour, so we thought she was gonna have a seizure. She’d also lost a shitload of weight in those four days at the vets and was still losing fluids.

So sitting and watching her and all lying in the room with her for those 24 hours, and seeing that she was really starting to suffer, we had to make the hard call and bring her to the vet to put her to sleep - because everything was getting worse, and keeping her alive to struggle and suffer would have been cruel. It was a really tough call, because our family live for our dogs, and she in particular was the livliest and fiestiest, she definitely ran the entire family. And it was a really unexpected deteroriation. Our labrador has cancer and really severe arthritis and he’s the one we always see sick, so to see wee Marley take a scary turn for the worse hit us like a train, we just didn’t see it coming at all. Before the appointment, we brought her up with her two brothers to her favourite walk up the mountain. I had to carry her in a big fleece because she couldnt walk, but at least she got to have one final outing with her family in her favourite place. And then we went to the vet in tears, and we all stoof around her talking to her and petting her while she went. It was the hardest thing we’ve ever had to, but it was the best thing for her. Have you found your bins? Why steal bins?

No! The Bin Wars in my street have been going on forever - someone stole our black bin ages ago and we had to replace it, and then someone started EMPTYING OUR RUBBISH OUT OF OUR NEW BIN, dumping it in the alley and putting THEIR RUBBISH in our bin so WE GOT FINED BY THE COUNCIL FOR ILLEGAL DUMPING.And now they’ve stolen one of our recycling boxes AND OUR COMPOST BIN like?? You’re not allowed to put food waste in black bins now! We’re gonna have to order a new one now and they take weeks for the council to actually deliver them I AM RIPPING
