The Lady scoffs, a disgusted scowl taking over her features. Hasn't she already clarified that she is much better off without a partner? The masses never shone in intelligence, that much was true, yet the very low expectations she has of them keep being crushed every time one of her Guests opens their mouth to speak to her.

A spouse would have been nothing short of bothersome. People are much like pets, constantly in need of care and affection; they need heart. 1. What would completely break your character?

A raspy, hollow chuckle crackles in the air, though the man's mouth does not move. It cuts short as he sits up in his chair to answer.

"Am I not already completely broken?"

He shadows his eyes with the brim of his hat before answering the query in a more elaborate way,

"I suppose if the tower should die, I would not survive it. I do not sleep, I do not eat. I sit, I wait. And the tower keeps me alive so I can have my revenge, and fix my mistake."

His hands idle into fists in his lap as he looks up, expecting to see some sign that what he's doing is right, and seeing nothing but the dimly lit ceiling above him, as usual. He shakes his head slightly and looks back down.

"The loop will never end, but if it did, both the tower and I... Would be completely broken."
