Here it is the part 2! This is the first kiss scene from my fanfic that I never actually wrote LOL. I have plans to get back on writing but I need to get myself together first.
Please consider supporting me on PATREON! I'll be posting spoilers of my webcomic and Ranma content from now on <3
Akane's not angry, not at all. If she throws the book across the room in the near future, it's because she disagrees with the choices the main characters make, and it's the closest she can get to shaking them personally.
Ranma thinks it'd be better for her sanity (and the wall) if she simply put the book down. He doesn't understand that one does not simply abandon a book halfway through. In her opinion, the pile of books that he has that he's started and chooses not to finish is appalling.
This whole college this was stupid to Ranma. Akane had insisted on going, but he saw no value in it. All it was a distraction from his training and building up a student roster at the dojo. Akane had moved out and into a dorm for the ‘full experience’ even though she was just 10 minutes away by train from the house.
Akane had gotten some scholarship and stuff, so she was really throwing herself into this whole ‘university experience’, as she had explained to him.
He thought it was all stupid.
So why was he here, in the common room of Akane’s university, a singular beer in his hand that he had been nursing for a while because he hated the taste of it. Akane had swapped out his empty bottle for her nearly full one after he had chugged it to get it over with. She was now holding a completely empty bottle and claiming she was still on her first one when people asked if she wanted a refill.
The space was noisy and smelly. People who he didn’t know, but Akane knew from class (or something) were clearly wasted around him and laughing way too loud. They hadn’t even really blinked at him showing up at their cafeteria and eating off of Akane’s plate.
He was kind of annoyed that no one introduced themselves to him, and that Akane hadn’t introduced him.
But he was here now, Akane pressed against his side on the dirty and scratchy common space couch as people took turns daring each other to do stupid things. Two dudes had swapped entire outfits, a girl had done a handstand ending with her sprawled onto the floor, and people were kissing in the corner as if they were invisible or in the room alone.
It was kind of gross. Akane had her knees tucked up into her chest, leaning into his armpit as his left arm draped across the couch. She was also laughing loudly, her cheeks flushed as she encouraged the stupid behavior around them.
She didn’t take any dares though.
It was supposed to be a truth or dare game, but everyone was picking dare. It was kind of pointless, honestly. Ranma took another small swig of his (Akane’s) beer, face wincing at the unpleasant taste.
A girl, whose name he didn’t know, whipped around, pointing at Akane but winding up falling into the oversized chair next to her. “Akane-chan! Truth or dare?” Or at least that’s what Ranma thought she said. Her words were rather slurred.
Akane sat up straight and immediately he missed the warmth of her. He had taken off his silk top when things started to get warm from the drunk milling bodies in the room, now only in his undershirt. “Dare!” Akane shouted.
A dude, who also was still a stranger to Ranma (thanks Akane), looked a little too gleeful as he leaned forward on the floor towards them. “Call your crush and confess your feelings.”
Akane was clearly still sober, but the way her face flushed and she started to stammer might have led someone to think otherwise. Ranma stiffened. What exactly had she been telling these people?
Did she have a crush?
If so, who was it?
Ranma’s eyes locked in on her face from the side, looking for any indication of who this ‘crush’ might be.
Akane stammer. “I….I changed my mind. Truth.”
The same dude from before. “Okay. Who is your crush?” Akane’s jaw dropped. Ranma guessed she didn’t see that one coming.
He was just as curious as the now quiet room as to what her answer could be. Everyone was paused in their motions to look at her.
Akane’s mouth opened and closed, much like a fish out of water. “Uh…okay I’ll drink instead.”
The room erupted into chaos, shouts of ‘no that’s not the rules’ and ‘just spill it!’ echoing across the walls. Akane’s face continued to turn darker and darker red, and she tried desperately to figure out how to get out of answering the question (or doing the dare). Ranma watched with curiosity as she tried to fend off the very rowdy bunch of drunk college students’ pestering questions and demands.
The dude who started the whole debacle, raised his hand, silencing the group. “We all know there’s someone, Akane-chan.” He spoke with confidence that only liquid courage could provide. “You’ve turned down everyone who has asked you out or asked you to spend one-on-one time. You only attend group events, and you always have someone to call each night before you go to bed.”
Akane slumped back in defeat, leaning back into Ranma.
Ranma was still processing what was said. Based on the information in those three sentences, he could deduce that she had never told them she was engaged to him because they didn’t know who he was, and that she was apparently dodging advances at college too.
He felt his mood begin to glower. Akane’s college life was still so mysterious to him, and he felt rejected at the thought that she had not told anyone about him.
Akane’s eyes shifted to stare at him from the corner of her vision, but he didn’t notice. He instead lifted his (Akane’s) beer up to his lip and took a long slow swig. Her look didn’t go unnoticed by the other attendees.
The girl who had fallen over the chair and was now cattywampus on it let out a loud gasp. “It’s him!” She tried to stand but fell over her feet again. “IT’S HIM!” She shrieked so loud that Ranma looked at her, saw her pointing at him, and looked behind himself in confusion.
The quieted chaos erupted ten-fold again as people stood up, fell down, rolled on the floor, toppled over furniture, all while getting closer to the pair on the couch. Rama felt himself tense up and his legs prepare to pounce. Akane curled into his chest, clearly just as startled as him as the pure energy rolling off of the drunk cohort before them.
Ranma was just about to grab Akane and make a break for it, much like they used to in high school, when Akane shouted over the noise.
“OKAY YES. HE’S THE ONE I HAVE A CRUSH ON!”
Ranma froze. Did he hear her right?
Everyone immediately settled down, resuming their lounging positions across the room.
“Nice.” The instigator said. “Who is he?”
Ranma internally drily laughed. Shouldn’t that have been asked before the drinking started? They were all too gone to probably remember his name in the morning.
Akane’s face was still red. “My fiancé.” She said with finality. Ranma felt his face started to flush with embarrassment too.
“Damn, I think he’s more than a crush then.” Whoever said that was not visible to Ranma as he stared at Akane. It was so rare for her ever acknowledge their situation.
Akane crossed her arms, tucking herself even further into Ranma’s side. “Yeah, it is.” She spoke harshly, like she was expecting an inquisition.
But, apparently all satisfied by the confession, the room moved onto their next truth or dare victim, which was the man who had prompted Akane’s unexpected confession. Ranma stopped paying any attention to what was happening in the room around him, instead focused on the heat radiating off of Akane’s body tucked into his side, and suppressing the joy that was threatening to make his heart explode.
