What would you say is needed to create a good anime adaptation of a manga?

A certain je ne sais quoi and definitely a lot of passion.

Like Dandadan, (New) Ranma 1/2, Jojo's Bizarre Adventure and Jujutsu Kaisen's anime are all fantastic, due to high quality animation and making the setting feel lived in.

You also need good scripting. But it basically requires the director, producer and head writer to all have It down.

A lot of it is just "It-ness".
