Fluffy ShinShiRan "Ran figured out the Conan/Shinichi thing early on AU" concept that made me giggle

Ran figured it out pretty early on and was playing along because she wanted Shinichi to come clean on his own. At first she thinks Ai's crush on him is like Ayumi's, a cute little kid crush and it's never going anywhere because he's not actually a kid.

Eventually she clues in that Ai's almost certainly like Shinichi, though she can't even begin to figure out where she came from or how she got into this situation much less why she ended up finding Shinichi in the first place--she doesn't look like anyone they ever knew before. (Maybe she went to him for help because he's been in the news before for his case work?)

And she realizes Ai's crush is serious, and that Shinichi is oblivious to it, but it just as quickly is clear to her that Ai has no intentions of acting on it because she's aware of Shinichi's feelings about Ran herself.

Except Ran thinks they're adorable together, and the longer she knows Ai the more she thinks these two work really well together and the more she wants to get to know this mystery woman. So she is Captain of the CoAi Ship honestly.

Ai and Conan think this is kind of awkward and all, but Ran can't possibly know better.

When they finally have the antidote and Shinichi comes clean, Ran drops the "I knew all along" bomb on him and he has no idea how to handle that. (Later, discussing that with Shiho, they come to the conclusion she was pushing them together as kids because what better way to throw anyone off from guessing she knew than to try to set her boyfriend up with somebody else?)

But finally Shinichi brings Shiho to meet Ran officially, and he's torn because he does genuinely love them both but right now he just needs them to meet properly because if Shiho's going to stick around she should know the people in his life regardless of whatever mess his love life is.

And Ran speaks first, because the two of them are too awkward to figure out how to handle this.

"So, Shinichi, are you finally going to introduce me to our new girlfriend?"

"Our?", comes from the other two at the same time.

"You didn't honestly think I was trying to set you up with somebody I didn't want to get to know better, did you?"

And that's how Shiho ends up with the best boyfriend and the best girlfriend she could ever ask for.
