long retail rant ahead
The first day of liquidation at Target Canada was... hectic. A nightmare, perhaps. People asked so many ridiculous questions, and I started keeping a tally of certain events happening (I got to five people complaining that 10% discount wasn't enough. I wanted to tell them that they're lucky it's discounted at all - I would much prefer if it weren't. Then I wouldn't be losing my job. I had one particularly rude person, and she was relatively young, too. Apparently she came back later demanding we fix a price or something but thankfully they didn't give it to her. I say good, she was warned that the prices were what they were and that it was final sale. I hope she never comes back. I had three people try - inadvertently - to cut in line. And three people asked about/attempted to return stuff either to get a price adjustment (yeah... you knew the liquidation was happening. It has been all over the place) or just things like oh if I don't use this can I return it. Like... no. We don't want your hair dye back. Sigh. There's just a lot to deal with and it was a long shift. I was considering asking for overtime but decided that, by the end of it, I was bagged. Plus James showed up so that was even more reason not to stay. He brought me a rose and pizza which is > listening to people be... people. My whole team did so great today though, I'm very proud of them. It was the last day of one of my favourite GSAs but I know where she has her new job so I will go visit her when I can. I went back after with James and acquired a sweet trampoline chair I've had my eye on for over a year, plus a keyboard case for my iPad (which I'm typing on now to get used to, ayy) and some eye liner and nail polish. It has been a long, interesting day. And I think it's about time I head to sleep.
