Cruel Fun
We all love to have fun..quite natural in humans. How we want to have and what is our perception of having fun obviously differs. But what fun is there when someone hurts someone else and specially those innocent living beings who do not know how to defend themselves properly. I am writing about Animals be it a stray dog,cat,etc.
Since many years animals of all sorts are in danger be it for their skin of which leather is made, clothes, ivory,etc and even animals are used for entertainment purposes. Many a times some animals like horses and mules are used for transportation in religious pilgrimages like Vaishno Devi in Jammu. As a child I used to enjoy riding on them but as I grew up I started noticing the cruel way the poor horses and mules are treated. The seating on their backs are of leather and in that leather padding for the riders comfort, beneath there are needles embedded which pierce in them. I noticed this long time back and the only person who made me realize this painful fact is my Dearest Elder sister Dr Sulbha Arora, whom I thank for making me realize these things.
But nowadays or say in recent times I have read and seen so many cruel acts which have taken Humanity to a new low level.These acts were posted on facebook. and they are
1.Monkey Acid Incident
In 2016, I read this horrific article that in some area in Mulund a monkey was just playing with someone’s clothes and to stop him someone threw acid on the poor animal. I mean it was disgusting that for such a small thing One can be so cruel.

2.Dog Tale Tied up by a firecracker
The sole reason I wish firecrackers get banned. If people want to burst crackers which is already damaging environment. Not done enough they are know harassing animals for CRUEL FUN. It came on Facebook through a video that some people tied a ladi on the tail of a stray dog and some guys were diverting the dog’s attention by feeding a biscuit and when the firecracker burst how much pain it might have caused the poor Dog.

3. Vellore Incident

4. China’s Yulin Festival
Many of us are aware of this disgusting festival of our second enemy nation China-They Yulin festival in which Dog meat is made and they are eaten. This is self explanatory how disgusting the festival is. Poor dogs are murdered and killed inhumanly in name of festival.
5.Dog Raped.
Well the killings and torturing was never enough that monsters thought it was cool to RAPE a defenseless Dog. Yes I repeat Defenseless Dog being Raped. This will make even a non animal lover’s blood boil.

I can list so many incidents where animals of any sort or types are being tortured and killed. Well we know about Cow’s being slaughtered for beef. Then we also put blame on animals for bad luck. Yes in the superstitions if a Black cat crosses your path the it is unlucky, If a Doggie is crying at night then something wrong will happen. Even this is cruelty if not fun.
What Our Nation or any Nation needs is Laws in protection of the animals of all sorts. If there are laws then need to make them stricter and any offender of animal welfare laws should be punished. There might be laws already and if you find it on google you will find all animal lovers petitioning and asking for laws but even if Laws for animals are there, Why are they not acted upon?? Due to lack of awareness is the answer and secondly they are not taken seriously.
This is the Job of government .
Now to the people,
If you want to keep pets it is OK but take care of them in all possible ways. If you are not keeping a pet still better. But Most importantly if you notice any act of animal cruelty anywhere around you, please take action and report it either to police or some animal welfare organization.
I have just tried to bring out the cruelty what i have seen and observed. If the readers have any more incidents or if I have missed out it was not intentional.
