Summary: Carmen has something to say to Johnny.
This is my gift to @raphidae for @cobrakaisecretsanta. It wasn’t the story that I intended to tell, but rather my second attempt at a fic for her. I hope this Johnny/Carmen fic goes over well, as it was my first time writing for both the couple and the character of Carmen. The Season 3 trailer and subsequent clips helped inspire it.

Lance ambled slowly through the space mall, looking in different shop windows in hope of finding something even remotely familiar. Coran had needed to look for more parts to the castle, different necessities for various odds and ends. To be honest, Lance had gotten lost during his talk.
Everyone had gone, even Allura somehow talked her way into going, although she had been ordered, by Coran, to stay by Shiro’s side. Neither of them had gotten to go last time, and it was safe to say that they both looked excited. They’d have fun...
Lance did a double take, peering into a store. His eyes went wide as he practically glued himself to the window, taking in the products inside. It was a Space Sephora, that was the only way he could describe it. A variety of posters, ads, hung from the walls inside, and it may be aliens, but the aesthetic shots of different faces was a universal constant.
Lance found himself going to the door on autopilot. He’d been using the food goo, after asking Coran what properties it had, for a face mask, and he desperately needed to branch out. He missed his different blends, his makeup, creams, and pretty much everything beauty related. Not to mention the castle only had one universal soap.
Yes, soap. It was a 2 in one deal, Coran had said excitedly. They didn’t have to worry about stocking with other bathroom supplies because you could use it for both! Lance wanted to cry. He knew that they’d been asleep for 10,000 years, but they were in a castle, there had to be some other amenities. Right?
Reality stopped him right at the entrance of the store. His pockets were light, save for his phone. He hadn’t stocked up on tons of coins before hand, and he doubted that the employee would appreciate him trying to pay with random, wet change.
“Excuse me,” Lance whipped around, freezing as he laid eyes upon probably the most gorgeous alien he’d ever seen, rivaling even Allura.

“You can only suffer through my whining for so long until you get up and make me a sandwich.”
“I can’t believe you all eat such primitive peasant food. Only our prisoners eat food goo back in the Galra Empire.” Lotor rolled his eyes as he stubbornly pushed the bowl away.
“Well, you kind of are our prisoner, so eat up,” Keith barked, before leaving the prince under Lance’s watch.
Lance glanced at Lotor’s crossed arms before sighing. “C’mon, I know Keith can be harsh, but food goo isn’t that bad.”
“There’s no way I’m eating something so vile,” Lotor said with his nose up in the air.
“C’mon, your highness, just eat,” Lance gritted, holding a spoonful up, only to have Lotor childishly turn his face away.
Lance ran a hand down his face in dismay. “Okay, I really don’t wanna deal with you and I have to get to training, so tell you what? I’ve got a small supply of food from the space mall. I make you a sandwich, you don’t tell anyone, and we’re both happy?”
Lotor grinned victoriously, “Deal.”

To be honest, same here. I love Alibaba to pieces, but this Solomon-ified version of him is really beginning to wear me out. It's like they erased practically all of what made Alibaba interesting, what made Alibaba ALIBABA, and shoved him into the generic heroic mold to make the ending move more smoothly. WHERE DID MY DARLING ALIBABA GO?!?! T___T
Alibaba was loveable because he had flaws that were relatable and though I expected him to become rather more confident person than who he was in balbadd arc the fact that we didn’t get to see that switch of personality makes it so hard to swallow.

I'll be blunt: I think it's the former. Your art's been wonderful lately, especially with the attention to detail on the clothing (I want those Beauty and the Beast jackets). I've sometimes experienced the same thing when it comes to my writing, so I get where you're coming from. Also, don't overwork yourself. You've posted how many pieces within the last week? Let yourself rest! :D
