and so.. knowing i wanted a material in which i would be able to more easily sculpt a smooth surface, i ditched the foam mould and settled upon a malleable mix of concrete..
the foam mould was detached from the vac’d acrylic [background]. the acrylic mould was flipped and filled with rapid-set cement [foreground]. the acrylic mould, under the strain of holding in the concrete, got a slight ‘muffin-top’ so was propped using a timber paling [middlegound].
