TLC SPOILER ALERT!!!

when Kai went all Briar Rose (princess Aurora from Disney's The Sleeping Beauty) for a short while before discovering princess Selene was actually Cinder, like, he wanted to find the princess and everything to end Levana but he was a tiny bit worried that that would mean he had to marry this princess instead because he had maybe started to have feelings for a certain someone else... only to find out later that they were, in fact, the same person lol like 'oh ok nevermind I'm good'

one of the funniest Carswell Thorne quotes/moments for me is in Winter when they are planning their escape from the ship thing that got them into Artemisia to get to the external sectors, they are about to get caught and Cinder asks Thorne and Wolf permission to control them: "only your bodies, not your minds", and Thorne answers with something like "I had been waiting for you to say that you wanted my body" like boy WHAT the hell

The Lunar Chronicles is funny

It's interesting to see how we imagine the persistence in time of things from our present in a fantasy dystopian future. Here are some funny stuff that I gathered from my recent reading of the series:

For some reason the existence of Queen Camilla of the United Kingdom always made me giggle, like, the UK still has a monarchy somehow ??? after 4 world wars ??? And the british royal family has reached the point of including the name Camilla in their monarch's names,,, like,,, it's funny considering the only Camilla related to them now is not the most popular yk 😭

Same thing with the existence of the island of Manhattan omg no offense but climate change ??? even nowadays we can tell that the whole world is already sinking and many islands and sea-level places are at risk, let alone in like 200 years from now ??? that is just so optimistic lol

They mention the Louvre museum being already gone, but not much far before the events of the book, wich is also kinda optimistic bc isn't a big part of it supposed to be made of glass? Too faithful in our architecture lol

They also mention the Great Wall of China is still there, and for some reason that doesn't seem extremely surprising bc well, it's been there for a hot minute

(During Cress, Thorne went through with his promise not to let Cress die unkissed. And by the end of Winter, while still doubting and feeling terribly undeserving of her, he still couldn't help but ask if she wanted to stay with him a little longer).
