hi i don't post here often but i've just thought of something. stephen trying to surname loki in that asshole way people do to keep someone at a distance and just. repeatedly getting it wrong
"[Pretend there's something badass and witty here], Odinson," Stephen finishes, feeling confident. Well. Not for long.
"That's not my name," Loki tells him, looking quietly amused.
"Laufeyson," Stephen corrects, flushing mildly. Oh boy was that embarrassing. Well at least it can't get worse—
"No."
"No? ...Liesmith."
Loki raises his eyebrows. Another no, then...
"Silvertongue?" Stephen guesses weakly, grasping at straws now.
Loki just grins at him, teeth sharp, eyes smug.
"Hveðrungr. Bølvasmiðr. Fárbautison?"
"Let's see..." Loki hums, lips twitching into a smirk. Though Stephen's surprised to note there's a hint of something... impressed, in his eyes. "An alias, a title, and just... incorrect. None of them my surname."
Stephen groans in frustration, pressing the heels of his hands into his eyes.
"Fine," he grits out. "I don't know your surname. What is it?"
"Oh, I don't know," Loki tells him, sounding insufferably cheerful. "I suppose you'll just have to call me Loki, Stephen."
