Update on Pip
His surgery was a success!!! 💕
I was sooo nervous dropping him off, and they kept mentioning how he’s old so it’s a little more risky (I love the vet I go to but I was like really people?? I’m panicking already lol) so I was super on edge all day. Drop off was super fast so I didn’t really get a chance to say bye to the boys, which was sad, but it had to be done.
Zach took me to breakfast to get my mind off things and fill me up with something due to my lack of appetite which helped. I got the call around noon that he’d woken up and was in recovery and they said he did great during the surgery! I decided to do a biopsy on the tumor just to see if it was malignant or not, so I’m curious about those results.
I picked them all up at 3 and they were all boggling like crazy while I pet them on the way home 🥰 it was sooo sweet and I missed them so much all day! (They we’re gone a total of 7 hours!)
Pippin is still a bit loopy from the anesthetic but he’s eaten a TON since getting home, and he drank water during the car ride. He passed out for about two hours recently and he’s up again now cleaning himself, and I’m just keeping an eye on him until I go to bed.
He’s in the cage with the other two because they usually leave him alone anyway and I’m going to be home all weekend, so I figured it’d be fine. I have a sock sweater thing I can put into him if he does start picking at his stitches but I’m hoping I don’t have to resort to that. We shall see!
Thanks everyone for your positive thoughts and encouragement!! I know I’m a big baby when it comes to my boys but this was my first ever rattie surgery so I was super scared I was gonna lose him. I still need to be adamant during recovery but it’s looking good so far. 😊
