Kratos is more than well aware of how Lloyd and his friends viewed him at different points in time.
Generally, after the betrayal, he assumes they will only see him as a villain, and this is why he doesn’t bother them much in the few times they run into him. He also happens to be doing his own thing, of course, but if they see him one way, it’s better to keep them guessing.
In general, he thinks most people see him as intimidating. After all, he has a generally stoic look on his face most of the time, and a lot of people tend to react nervously because of that. It’s not so much that he tries, it’s just the consensus of most people that ‘that guy is scary’.
