Imagine gaslighting yourself to think Lorraine actually survived X and then she dies and you're in shock... anyway I'm glad she left with Maxine after she shut up because she deserves to be with a good woman like Lorraine.

Sam and Tara move in with Gale and help her heal. Sam and Tara do anything for Gale at this point. They get her water and food. This advances their relationship and makes it more familial. When Gale accidentally first called them their daughters, Tara went to her room in shock and just cried while Sam stiffened up in shock. Gale apologised obviously but she was then hugged. "We do need a good mother figure for once..." Sam would say. From then on, she would call them her daughters and protect them. When Chad broke up with Tara (at least it was a good break up), she would comfort Tara and say that they were still friends at least and she could search for someone else. She isn't only tied to one person after all. Once Gale was fully better she would cook for her daughters. Sam and Tara would protest at first but Gale would keep doing it when they were out. One time Gale made breakfast, Tara again locked herself in her room and cried, not expecting breakfast to be made. Gale just let her be and left her breakfast outside the door.
"Your breakfast is out the door," she would announce before going to the table with Sam and talking about how Sam doesn't need to work 2 jobs anymore, she doesn't have to pay rent for a while after all. She also helps Sam get an actual job she wants, a gym trainer. Obviously, since the last event, people thought she was a murderer but Gale helped clean her name and most people believed Sam was the hero finally, especially after they hear who the killers actually were. They sign up to her classes, so much so that Sam has a successful side business of making workout advice videos. Tara meanwhile works hard in college and soon she becomes a film director and Gale even shares her daughter's projects. She obviously also shares Sam's stuff.
Eventually, Sam brings Kirby and Danny over as her partners. Gale greets the both of them, even if she knows Kirby and knows that Kirby doesn't really trust her. That does soon change however when she sees the change that Gale has done and even taking in 2 people which she didn't believe Gale would do until it actually happened. She was happy with Gale's improvement. Gale meanwhile continued to work as a weatherwoman and started to write again, except not about the New York incidents. No, it would be about Dewey and the work he did and how he actually was, and how she loved him so much and he was her soulmate and she fumbled, so she advised people to follow their hearts and if it ended badly, that they deserved better, a guy like Dewey. When Tara does get a crush next however, Gale helps her out. She gives Tara advice on how to get her crush, and is surprised it's a girl, but she doesn't care. She just allows Tara to bring her over. She trusts her daughters after all, they are over 18. When Tara does get the girl, she congratulates her and then talks to her daughters girlfriend, introducing herself and if she ever needed help she was there. Hell, she gave the sex education talk to both girls too, but she said she would allow it in her home, she wouldn't stop it. Just do it in the bedrooms (the rule was made when Sam was caught with Kirby and Danny in the living room).
Hell, even Sidney was surprised when she heard the news that she took the girls in but congratulated her and wished her well. That's when everyone involved in the Ghostface incidents (and Tara's girlfriend) stay over for the night for movies as well as dinner once a month so they can make sure everyone is ok and have a night of relaxation and fun.
Gale had found her small family, and she wasn't going to fuck things up anymore. She would support everyone anyway that she can, and changes for the better.
