Honestly, to me, they are the other yin and yang couple in Atla, and the vision Aang had in the swamp said it all--he should’ve listened. Not only was she his next teacher, but the one person to balance him out. Not Katara. And I will die with that belief. We need opposites, we need people in our lives to teach us, as we teach them, and find that balance together. Toph was that for Aang.

I still don’t see the ship as been the same as Zutara, but The Rise of Skywalker completely changed my mind about them!  I enjoyed their chemistry immensely! Although, I agreed on the, er, death that happened at the end (please don’t murder me!)

But I have even read some AU fics that popped up on my dash. Their chemistry and connection is my main hook on this ship, totes.
