I don't have a opinion on the ship between Makoto and Mukoro but I would say the ship is quite interesting one for because the unintentional hero x villain dynamic between Makoto who is hope embodiment and Mukoro who was loyal to her sister but have a crush on Makoto make it quite compelling ship even if I don't have any preferences for them.

Honestly, to me, they are the other yin and yang couple in Atla, and the vision Aang had in the swamp said it all--he should’ve listened. Not only was she his next teacher, but the one person to balance him out. Not Katara. And I will die with that belief. We need opposites, we need people in our lives to teach us, as we teach them, and find that balance together. Toph was that for Aang.
