Yooo I have the same problem. Every once in a while if I’m sick/ addled I’ll suddenly remember some feelings from when I was a kid. So maybe it’s all up there but blocked for whatever reason? Remembering is usually not fun imo so I don’t seek it out.
I sometimes have specific memories (usual very sensory) that come back with some stimulus, but it's still not really connected and it doesn't really give me any insight into what I was thinking/feeling/who I was at the time; it's like watching something on tv (only not, because I empathize with tv characters and I don't with my past self)

oh! so, last semester, a couple of weeks before classes started, I sent out e-mails to my professors. the basic structure was "hi, professor so-and-so! I'll be taking (course title or number) with you this coming semester. although my name is listed as (birth name) on your class rosters, I actually go by garrett. I would also appreciate it if you use ze/hir/hirself pronouns when referring to me. if you need more information on what my pronouns are or how to use them, please don't hesitate to ask! I appreciate your cooperation and look forward to seeing you this semester! (signature)"
I had mixed results last semester, and it seemed like at least one professor hadn't received my e-mail? so I'm thinking that this semester I might send it a little closer to when classes start. I was also considering attaching some sort of information on my pronouns and how to use them. anyway, that's the basic format I used.
