AU where during the whole arc where Chitoge is forced to move back to America, the move ends up happening so she decides to confess to Raku at the airport in front of her family and their classmates. She ends up kissing him and then it leads to a make out session that makes everyone super uncomfortable. Even Claude doesn’t want to get in the middle of those two.
Your Name AU where it’s literally Your Name. But instead of the whole rural vs urban thing, it’s gang vs yakuza.
AU where CanonMarried!RakuxChitoge meet up with Chapter0!RakuxChitoge and their younger, alternate selves grow increasingly awkward as they see their canon selves be a lovey dovey and junk. Extra points if they already had Haku at this point and the younger versions are embarrassed by the fact that they had children together.
So I’m a bit behind to posting about this, but I couldn’t just not say anything.
Raku finally realizes his feelings for Chitoge. And, NOT ONLY does he realize he has feelings for her, but he acknowledges those feelings as feelings of love. And, NOT ONLY does he realize that he’s in love with Chitoge, but he also points out that what he feels for Chitoge is different than how he feels towards any of the other girls.
Um, are you kidding me? I’ve got one word: FINALLY.
He FINALLY sees what we’ve all been pointing out for ever. And now the party can get started, amirite?
BUT WAIT! THERE’S MORE!
That’s right! in chapter 200, we get Raku asking Chitoge about the person she likes. And what happens? Raku puts two and two together and comes up with a guess on who she likes! It’s suggested that Raku has finally realized that it’s him who Chitoge likes.
This is where things get a little iffy for me.
What makes me think that Raku thinks that it’s him? Well, he finds himself remembering Chitoge’s interactions with him, such as giving him chocolates on Valentine’s Day, and when he thinks of the person it might be, we see him madly blushing. It would make sense if he thinks, “No way, could she like...me?!” and then gets extremely embarrassed over that fact.
But I’m still skeptical, and you probably know why by this point. Komi is a troll. It’s highly possible that Raku could be thinking that the one Chitoge likes is actually Shuu or someone else. However, he already did something similar for a brief time in the past, but I wouldn’t put it past him to do this anyway.
Which do I hope for? Personally, I want to see Raku squirm some more because of Chitoge. I want to see him blush and overthink and do all of the cliche things people do when they have feelings for someone. I will eat that stuff up.
That’s why I don’t want Raku to realize just yet that Chitoge likes him back. I felt like this was way too quick to happen. I mean, the kid just comes to terms with his feelings towards her and now he gets a feeling that Chitoge likes him back already?
No no no, I need to see more angst. I need to see Raku get nervous over Chitoge liking someone else. These are things I need.
But I guess we’ll see where this goes. While this is something I did want at some point, I wanted the (figurative) train ride to be a bit longer so I could get more substance at every point of the journey. But I guess the (literal) train ride in the chapter was good enough to fill up the space between [Raku>Chitoge>?] and [Raku>Chitoge>Raku???].
...I have no idea if that makes any sense to anyone but myself. But anyway, if we are to assume that Raku does think that Chitoge likes him, then that means a few things will most likely happen:
Raku has to find out about Onodera’s feelings so that the playing field is “even”. People like people who like them. We can’t have Raku making any decisions while he thinks that Chitoge likes him back and Onodera doesn’t. Any decision that Raku makes needs to be done when he at least has an idea of both girls liking him back.
Raku is going to try to figure out if Chitoge really does like him back or not. He’ll be questioning everything she does with, for, or to him. This may result in shenanigans and hilarious/suspicious reactions from Chitoge and/or others.
Chitoge will (eventually) find out that Raku likes her back. This will either be closer to the end of the series, or it’ll probably be revealed at an inconvenient time in the plot.
Things that might be interesting to see in the story at this point:
Yo, I am still all for introducing a new male to the series. I told you. I need to see a jealous Raku. Bring in that childhood friend. That transfer student. That exchange student. That bodyguard. I really don’t care. I know that we’ve been there done that with Tsugumi, but hello, that turned out to be another harem girl for Raku rather than for Chitoge. Bring it back and do it right, I won’t mind. Probably...
Onodera finding out about Chitoge’s feelings and NOT CARE. Well, she’ll care but in the end she will still try to win Raku over. I could kinda see this happening if Ruri is there to persuade taking the advantage over Chitoge.
Okay, this is so far out there and random, but I really want another angsty fight thing between Raku and Chitoge. I was seriously all over that fight in the beach/Romeo and Juliet arc. All. Over. Please gimme some more of that angsty love goodness. My heart hurts just thinking about it. I love it.
The fake relationship somehow becomes relevant again...and ends. Let’s face it, the relationship has just been in the background this whole time, but I kinda miss the days when it was much more important to the story. But I suppose we’re past that point in the story. But I would kind of like to see the fake relationship end at some point. This could be the angst I was looking for (if done a certain way)!!! Plus, if Raku and Chitoge will get together in the end, it would be kind of anticlimactic if they’re already “dating” and then they’re dating...but nothing changes. We need a disruption of the status quo.
Ugh, now I can’t even remember what else I was going to add, lol. Oh well. I’ll just be looking forward to the next chapter. They’ll be 3rd years now. This is when it’s going to get good!
