you're right, that was an ableist choice of wording and i didn't give it a second thought. unlearning problematic slang is a process, stuff still gets through the filter sometimes. i should have used the word 'homicidal', which contextually has no connotations of mental illness and relays the meaning i intended.
i was referring to a discussion in an earlier post i reblogged discussing the misrepresentation of wonder woman's characterization in a popular post that implied her inherent strength as a female hero was in her willingness to kill villains where male heroes would not. i take issue with how a female character's willingness to kill or a flippant disregard for human life is sometimes construed as 'feminist' characteristics in fandom because i am uncomfortable with how it suggests that an ability to exert one's power over other people, especially violently, is somehow representative of feminist ideals.
