… it’s procrastination day… not very good considering that i’m taking home Daiquiri the ratsie in less than an hour, after she’s had surgery to remove a tumor… (yay first one for the new batch of ratsies –_– and they’re 1yo in just two days… that’s early…) aaaand well she doesn’t have a recovery cage yet. and the big one should’ve been cleaned but i just haven’t found the courage for it. yay. –__–

Mom: Still, your rats running around on the couch… It's not exactly…

Me: Exactly what? Clean?

Mom [a bit embarrassed]: Yeah.

Me: Well, they leave a *tiny* drop of urine from time to time, but that's all. It doesn't smell, and it's not contaminated by anything. Where would they get the germs? From us. And that's all.

Mom: uh…

Me: Okay. You know what? If their cage is cleaned regularly, the average pet rat is cleaner and less likely to make anyone sick than the average dog. Dogs go outside, they get their paws everywhere, lick and eat unspeakable things and then lick *you*.

Mom [sarcastic]: So what you're saying is that we shouldn't keep our own shoes inside because it's not clean.

Me: Yup.

Mom [looks slightly disgusted and *very* perplexed]:

So erm. Perco had an “accident” on the couch the other day, so I went to wash the covering today, and now it’s back in its place (ish) and drying. So when the ratsies showed how much they needed to get out and run (just as I was going to bed, of course…) well I couldn’t just let them go on the couch for a quick game of “run on and in and out of the boxes”.

SO… I took them on my shoulders and sat back at my computer. And tried to hve a chat with someone at the same time.

Well I had forgotten how… interesting it can get to *be* the playground of your ratsies ^^

Banane (the blue one) and Patate (the husky, white one) absolutely LOVE grooming my hands. Daiquiri (the other blue one) not so much, so she leaves her sisters do all the hard work of licking all my hydrating cream off -_-
