This is the first of my vocaloid song analysis things, started when I first joined the tpp lore server and only finished recently. Crystal is my favourite run so expect a lot of that from me.

Twitch Plays Pokemon: Interpretation––AJ

Evan’s thoughts on and interactions with the former vessels. Next up, AJ 

Besides Abe, AJ was the only vessel Evan felt calm around, which is pretty ironic given the fact that he panicked like The Voices when he first saw him.

AJ, surprisingly, was the youngest out of all the Vessels. While everyone else grew to their early twenties before stopping, the second vessel remained at the young age of seventeen. He was by no far the shortest, but he acted like he had a napoleon complex.

AJ was also a loose trigger. Evan wonders if it was partially because he was still in a teen’s body. Right now, he and Azure can relate, but that’s only because of the anti-aging effect of the Void has yet to affect them due to their recent residency. He’s rebellious and quick to snap, the simplest of things causing him to switch mood in an instant. Evan noticed that he tries to hold in his anger, AJ knowing his flaw and trying to control it–––but in the presents of a God or Red, he erupts.

Red pays no mind to it. He will accept any challenge AJ brings to him, allowing him to rant and scream. There were very few times in which he saw the original vessel get angry by AJ, but the tick in his eyebrow (which Evan is extremely proud that he is able to spot) shows his growing annoyance.

Helix was also another trigger. Both his and AJ’s eyes were Gold, a trait that majority of the other vessels seem to like. When Helix is in his view, his eyes would begin to glow as he glared at the God of Chaos, the space around him would thicken and his entire body becomes highlighted in a dark aura. The first time Evan saw it happen, he fell on the ground from the un-expectancy of it all, then crawled away as his fight-or-flight instant took over. Evan wondered if this was the extra blessing that Amber said he wasn’t ready to learn yet. Despite the area shaking and the aura expanding, Helix paid him no mind. If anything, Evan would say that the pokemon looked proud, allowing the vessel to run and try to catch him.

AJ doesn’t mess with Amber, though. Turns out the kid does knows some of his limitations.

Evan enjoys AJ a lot more when he’s calm. He smiles more, laughs more––it’s almost like having a cute little brother that somehow can beat him in everything. When he entered the Void, out of their five battles with The Voices, he had only had one win. The gap since then has widen tremendously, baring true to his name “Godslayer,” which he wears with pride. It doesn’t help the fact that Azure has more wins against AJ then he does.

Which was another thing he and AJ had in common; the fact that they convinced that Pantheon to allow another human to reside with them. Apparently, Amber had taken it upon himself to allow Azure. Red––and others––had said that Amber has taken an extreme liking to him. He was going to bring Azure regardless of what the others said, per Evan’s request of wanting to keep her safe. 

Joey had to prove his worth.

“I’m an informant, basically. I survey the land with everyone else during the runs.” Joey smiled. Despite looking young in Johto, in the Void, Joey was taller and older than AJ by a year. It was a great shock to Evan since he’d gotten so use to the smaller him; the one that The Voices so affectionately called ‘Joey-sempai.’ At least he doesn’t feel bad when anymore when he recalls all the inappropriate things The Voices wished for the two of them to do together. “I keep track of the trainers. You can ask everyone here. They’ve met a ‘Youngster Joey.’ Practically, their first meeting with me is a way for me to place a tracking device with you. It’s a lot easier as technology goes along.”

“Why do you need a tracking device?” Evan asked, the pulled out his Pokegear to see where the bastard placed it on his.

“The Gods can find you easily, but we can’t when we’re out in the field.” Joey smirked, watching Evan fiddle with his device. “Besides, you can’t deny that me talking you didn’t calm you down when dealing with The Voices.”

Evan smirked. As much as he hated Joey’s obsession with his Ratatta, it did bring a small speck of order to the chaos that he had to dealing with The Voices. The calls calmed them, yelling out various words and sentences to respond to him despite the fact that Joey couldn’t hear them. He remembered talking to Joey just moments before he fought AJ, their usual with a promise of a rematch. He thought he heard him breath a small good luck before he ended his call, but counted it after he won his first match against the Godslayer.

Joey chuckled, grabbing the PokeGear and showing him his phone number. “The tracking was in my phone number. Even if you had accidentally erased it, it would have already be in your phone by the time it was gone.”

“... You sneaky little brat.” Evan smirked, catching his gear as Joey tossed it to him.

He was sure that eventually, Azure was going to have to prove her worth like Joey–– becoming an informant, just further behind the scenes. Evan was okay with that. It was not like he was going to keep Azure locked up in the Void regardless; she would get bored and restless.

Joey was AJ’s kryptonite. There were times in which Evan was talking to AJ and the second vessel would stare if he caught Joey in his sight. He apologized afterwards, but Evan eventually got over it. The confidence that AJ usually boost around was gone, a nervous, meek boy taking his place as Joey smiled and talked to him.

“Aren’t you guys together?” Evan asked, causing AJ to jump and snap out of his stare. Joey was only a couple feet away, chatting away with Camila and A7 about possible mega-evolutions. The two seemed confused, but interested in it. Evan was too, but would rather not deal with Camila right now.

AJ laughed nervously as he looked away, rubbing the back of his head. “I-I mean, we are.”

“So why are you still nervous?” Evan smiled.

AJ frowned at the questioned. “Why are you around Azure?”

“There is a difference.” Evan retorted. “Azure and I are not together. She’s just my childhood friend.”

AJ rolled his eyes. “And because of that, you can’t really say anything to me about how I act around Joey.”

‘Stop being a brat.’ Evan thought, but he has a point. He really have no say about AJ’s love life seeing as he does not have one himself. He wonders if the others had someone they loved, someone that they had to leave behind besides their family. 

AJ removed his hat and scratched the back of his head. “Ah, well. Because I love him.” Evan waited after the pause, then frowned once he realized that AJ was not going to continue talking.

“That’s it?”

“Pretty much.” AJ stated nonchalantly.

Evan frowned. “That was anti-climatic.”

“Well, what did you expect me to say?”

“Something sappy and teenage angsty like ‘passion of a thousand Slumas’ or ‘just being together could keep me warm at Mt. Silver.’” Evan stated. “Or something like, ‘I really can’t live without him.’”

“Is that how you feel about Azure?”

Evan flushed, turning away from the Godslayer. “Ah, well, not that I’m denying it, but––”

“I can say other things, but you pretty much got is down pack.” AJ responded, glancing back at Joey. “I really don’t need to say all of that because it’s implied. And once you finally man up and get with Azure, you’ll see that you will still feel that way.”

Evan frowned, but stayed silent.

“... Do you know that Joey is probably the only good thing that happen to me in that run?”

Evan snapped his attention back to AJ, his gold eyes staring into space. “I didn’t.”

“What do you know about me, according to your lore?”

“That the Voices decided to choose you to defeat Helix and prevent the Gods from getting too powerful.”

AJ chuckled with a dark growl. “Of course they would say that.” He spat. “The Voices... when they first took over me, I barely knew about Red. We knew, but the revival of the Pantheon religion was still new. It was hard to consider it true, especially since he disappeared for three years. But then I was chosen.

“Can you believe that I was happy when I was chosen? Me, an awkward boy in New Bark Town? Of course, when it started, I couldn’t speak. Their control was suffocating until Jimmy’s run. Still, I felt special, until it actually got started.

“They didn’t care for me at all. They wanted me to follow in Red’s footstep. No, not follow––they wanted me to be him. They wanted me to catch another pidgey so they can try to re-create their Bird Jesus. They wanted me to get rid of my Eevee because they hated the Eeveelution line due to their own experience. They wanted––” AJ clinched his hands into fists, “––they wanted to get rid of Lazor and everyone else just to for me to feel pain. And after a while, I started to scream. But I did more crying than screaming. And it was all for this God! This Helix!

“Helix was nothing more than Chaos and I hated that I was chosen to be an angel for his word. A word that I could not fully understand at the time. I still don’t fully understand it at all, to be honest. Eventually, I tried to rebel. I don’t know how, but The Voices started to pick up on where I wanted to go and what I wanted to do. I wanted to end this. I wanted to weaken them. I wanted to make him suffer like he made me. And soon, I got my own title and name. Godslayer.”

AJ released a breath he didn’t realized he held in. “I wouldn’t want to go through that hell again. But there is always a silver lining to everything, and for me, that was Joey. Whenever he called, the Voices calmed and I was able to gain some control. I was heartbroken when they deleted his number, but then... they got it back for me. I like to think of it as an apology. And he was so nice to me and didn’t think I was weird. And after all this was over, he listened to me, held me as I finally cried in relief.” AJ titled his head, smiling at Evan. “You know what that’s like, right?”

Evan flushed, looking down at his feet. He remembered stepping into the Void with Abe, his eyes locking with Azure after a few steps deeper into the odd abyss. Unable to control his body and emotions, he ran to her, embracing her as tears trickled from his face, her hands rubbing his back as she tried to calm him down.

He knew exactly what AJ was talking about.

Evan’s Notes:

AJ: The Second Vessel of the Voices, also known as “the Godslayer.” Ironically, outside of Red, he is the most Iconic out of all the Vessels. While Red was the Angel to bring the Gods into Power, AJ was the Angel to remind them to remain in their place. They balanced each other out, but at what expense? Unlike Red, AJ completely despise his role in the Pantheon despite knowing the good that comes from it. How he decided to accept that the Pantheon was good, I don’t know, and by the looks of it, he’s not going to tell me.

Red told me that before the Voices, AJ was shy and feeble. He smiled more, however. Red told me that the Voices change people, some for the good and some for the bad. AJ just so happen to get the bad end of the deal.

Outside of his pokemon, his only solace is Joey. Joey, who wanted to spend the rest of his life being an informant to the Gods so he could be close to AJ.

I wonder if Azure is one of my many solace as well

Based Jadey senpai, since you drew a lot of AJ-Joey back in the day, I thought I'd alert you that in Church of Helix Choir's new seventeen-song album, there's a Joey song. :O (I can't link apparently, but just type Church of Helix Choir in to Google and you'll be able to find and listen to it) (I'd also request an AJ-Joey doodle to celebrate the occasion but I've already had one request and I would never impose ^^;)

HELL YEAH IMMA LISTEN TO THIS SHIT. my tpp days may be over, but my love for joey (and aj/joey) is UNENDING!

Twitch Plays Pokemon-The Aftermatch of Kenya

"But she was innocent!" AJ yelled.

Red, Camila, Alice, and Napoleon stared at AJ, surprised that he spoke out. In the void of nothingness in which they reside in after they became champions, the four stood side by side as the Second vessel released his anger. They could return to their land anytime they wanted, but found peace here after they encountered the voices. This way, they will not be able to approach them.

With their pokemon behind them, Red held out his arm, stopping his Pidgeot, Bird Jesus, from attack. “Let him talk.” He whispered, his voice being the most horsed and damaged out of all of them. The voiced did not give him a say and his screams were all that he could do during his journey. He respects every opinion, even if it were against what he believed in.

"She was not suppose to have this struggle! This pain! It wasn’t even a fire type this time- it was ground!" AJ ranted, his fists clinched tightly against his sides and his feet stopping on the invisible surface. "The mob even planned strategies with one another so that an event like this wouldn’t happen! So why!? Answer me, Helix!"

There was a collective hushed over the chosen ones, their jaws tighten and their lips seals. Camila gritted her teeth together and looked away, letting out a huff.

Lord Helix walked from beside Red, approaching AJ with one of his tentacles raised high. “My dear boy. It was enviable.” the Deity stated. “Believe me when I say that I did not want this to happen just as much as everyone else did. But there is a price to pay with organized chaos.”

"Bullshit!" AJ hissed, grabbing the Helix by his shell and picking him up. In an instant, all of the protagonist’s key members stood their ground. Camila’s Azumarill M4, Alice’s Slacking DJ, and Napoleon’s Roserade Queen Sunbrella all stood ready for their trainers’ command. Sensing the hostility, AJ’s Feraligatr, LazorGator, stood in front of his trainer and let out a vicious roar, his body tense and ready to attack.

"W-Wait!" Red called out, already having calmed down his Bird Jesus, but his harsher, much quieter voice was unheard as Camila gave out the first command. "M4, use-"

"Stand down my children!" Helix called, the chosen vessels besides Red confused by his command. The omastar stared into AJ’s narrowed gold eyes. "I will handle this. Do as I command. AJ, this includes your LazorGator as well."

AJ growled before looking at his pokemon. “It’s okay, Gator.” He stated. As the Feraligatr retreated back to his master, the other ace pokemon did as well. The trainers, however, continued to stare at AJ with worried and dismay. AJ dismissed it, never caring for it anyway. They always gave him that look. He was known as the godslayer, after all. “Explain yourself, Helix!”

"My second vessel, I assure you that this, although tragic, was needed. She was getting too comfortable in the randomizer." The deity stated. "She does not understand that Bill, the PC creator, was the enemy. It was her own naivete and the mob’s lack of security that brought the pain that they are trying to endure right now. But it was needed."

"Liar! Death is never needed!" AJ hurled the god over to Red, who caught him easily being use to the two conversing like this. "Eight Badges without a single incident! The mob still worships you and yet you still repay them with this crap!"

"Watch yourself, punk." Camila decided to speak up. "She isn’t the only one that had a sacrifice! We all lost someone! Someone we planned on taking with us to victory with the voices! To be with them forever in peace after all of this was done."

"Besides, if it was bad for us, think about how painful it is for the pokemon." Alice pitched in, her soft voice firmer than any of them are use to. "The constant fear it places on them. You should be thankful for Camila, too. That’s M4 child she’s letting you have around for this mission. If you carried around LazorGator, Bill would have known it was you from the beginning."

AJ huffed, taking his hat off, rubbing his fingers through his black hair. “… she didn’t deserve it.”

"None of us did." Napoleon spoke up. "None of us deserved to have our friends taken away from us they way they did- by the mob and the PC. I did not even like pokemon at that time, but I did not even get a chance to spend an entire day with her before she was killed."

Alice sighed. “Believe it or not, AJ, you are the luckiest one of out all of us. At least you were able to keep your started. And by the looks of it, she might be, too. I wish the best of luck for her.”

"It shouldnt be like that!" AJ yelled. "If only I had gotten there in time! If I did-"

"Your cover would have been blown." Helix boasted. "You can only appeared but so many times before Bill get suspicious. If you came at the moment, your emotions would have gotten the best of you and he would have known you were there!

"You are there to guide her when need be, but also to fix the region and stop Bill once and for all! While Alice is an expert in his randomization scheme, you know the Johto region better than anyone else. Your mission is to find Bill and end his schemes as she makes it to champion and reside with us.

"Granted, AJ, if I could give this task to anyone else, I would. But it has to be you." Helix started down at him. "If you mess this up, you doomed us all and this- my followers and my people, my faith and my powers, will be all for nothing."

The helix raised a tentacle and a portal opened, the other side filled with the Johto air and grassland that was familiar and nostalgic to AJ, but he could tell that something was amiss. “I am sorry, AJ, that this has upset you. But really, you should be use to this. Now go, my child.”

"I am not your child." AJ hissed before stepping outside, the portal closing instantly as M4’s child followed along. The Crystal protagonist screamed out and got on his knees, punching the ground. "It! Is! Not! Fair!" He screamed some more before catching his breath. "She could have been the one to break the curse… it’s not fair…"

The Marril walked over to AJ, placing a sympathetic paw on his shoulders. She had gained a liking to the trainer, despite her mother warning her to be careful.

"S-Sorry." AJ sat down in the grass, picking up and holding the Marril. It wasn’t like holding his LazorGator when he was a totodille, but it was close enough. "I shouldn’t be acting like this in front of you. You are still too young to understand." The Marril just stared and smiled at him, confirming his theory.

Soon, he grabbed his pokegear. He knew the Helix would be in disapproval of this, but he never cared for him. Dialing a number, AJ placed it to his ear and began to silently pray. To Helix? To Dome? To Amber? To anything higher than them, if there was?

Click. “Hello?”

AJ smiled. Rather the Helix decided to be generous still or something else answered him, his prayers have been answered. “H-Hello, Joey…”

"Hey? Is this Ethan?" Joey exclaimed.

AJ bit his lips and gulped. “Y-Yeah… this is Ethan. S-Sorry I haven’t been calling you lately… I’ve been… busy…”

"It’s cool, man!" Joey continued. "I’ve got time to talk. I tried to call Aoooo a few minutes ago, but she’s not answering. Actually, I don’t know why I was so compel to call her in the first place. She usually calls me."

"It’s okay." AJ began to tremble. "H-How is your Rattata?"

Joey laughed. “You’re funny, Ethan. You know I don’t have a Rattata. I had a Bonsly, but now I have a Haunter! Can you believe it?”

"… Yes I can." ‘In this world,’ He thought.

"But if I did have one, it will be better than all the other Rattatas! Like, way better! It would be the best out of all of them. A-"

"Top Percentage of Rattata…"

"Yeah! Wow! It’s like you know me!" Joey laughed, then stopped once he didn’t hear anything from the other end. "Ethan? Ethan, are you there?"

"… Don’t ever change, Joey." AJ said, then ended his call. He huffed, wiping his tears away as he stood up, the Marril sliding down his leg to the ground. He smiled at the pokemon before dialing another number.

Click. “H-Hello?”

"Aoooo." AJ started. "How are you? Where are you?"

A sniff and a cough came from the phone. “… I-I don’t know.”

AJ raised an eyebrow. “What do you mean you don’t kno-“

"I don’t know and I don’t care!" Aoooo hissed, her growl predominately taking over her voice. "It doesn’t matter any more! The badges, the journey, the voices! It doesn’t matter anymore!"

"Aoooo-"

"I was different then them, Ethan! The vessels before me! I'm not even completely human! I have to hide my ears in this stupid hat just so I can have fun for once!

"And I did! I was having fun defeating team rocket and getting gym badges! I embraced Helix because he gave someone like me a chance! He gave everyone like me a chance! But forget him! He and his stupid mob and their victory riots and their goal to become the champion because none of it matters anymore! None of it matters without her! Without Kenya…" Her growls faded until it was replaced with a wail and hiccups. "My Kenya is gone… S-She’s gone… Kenya…"

AJ bit his lips. “I-I’m sorry, Aoooo.” He responded. “Truly I am. But you must not give up. Not yet.” Silence. “Can you still hear the voices?”

Aooo hummed. “I can still here them. But they cannot control me right now. I somehow block them with a radio signal, but I still can’t move much.”

"Because you are still their vessel." AJ stated. "Listen to me, Aurora."

"Ethan, I told you not to-"

"Just listen to me." AJ stopped her. "If the voices can’t control you, that also mean Bill can’t contact you, so listen to me quickly."

A sniff. “O-Okay.”

"You need to continue this journey." AJ started. "I know its hard. You felt powerless as they released her. That its the end of the world, but it’s not. And despite what happen, you are still different from the others. You are never going to be like the one before, so continue to have that mindset.

"Aurora, do not allow Kenya’s death to go in vain. Kenya may be the only one, and maybe there might be more. But you have to keep fighting for them. You have to defeat the elite four and the champion. You have to defeat the Kanto leaders and head up to Mt Silver. Only then can you revive this world back to its former glory."

"Former Glory?" Aoooo questioned, and AJ realized his mistake. However, he figured that he was too far ahead to quit now.

"At the top of Mt. Silver, there will be someone. I do not know who it is. It could be someone affected by the randomizer or one of the past vessels." AJ took a breath. "It could be me. But whatever it is, you have to continue this journey to the end. They would want that. You would like that, too, and so would Kenya."

"B-but after I become champion, then what?" Aoooo asked, the sniffing stop. "What would happen to me? I-I know I haven’t given any thoughts to it until now, but every vessel seems to disappear. What about me too?"

AJ smiled. “Do not worry. You will be in a safe place. After this, nothing can and will harm your pokemon anymore. But you need to win it, okay.”

He could tell Aoooo was nodding before she realized he couldn’t see her and replied. He smiled softly. “That’s good.”

"Ethan."

"Yes, Aurora."

"How do you know all this?"

"… I’ll tell you that another time." AJ stated, sighing. "It will be after Mt. Silver. I don’t have enough time to explain it to you. I know that the voices right now are trying to get through to you as we speak right now. I don’t have much time left."

"O-okay… thank you, Ethan. You are such a great friend." Aoooo smiled.

AJ nodded, mostly to himself. “Also, when you get off, try to get the voices to call Joey.”

"That won’t be a problem! They love Joey-sempai!" She barked. "They think its the same one AJ been with. But they are silly! He has a rattata! this one has… everything else."

"I know. Call him for me and tell him what I am about to tell you." AJ smiled. "Tell him everything will return back to normal. And I will get him out of here soon."

"Ethan, you are scaring- ah!" Aoooo stopped mid sentence and AJ knew his time was up. He could hear her trying to speak, but it was no use. At least she will be the most likely to keep her voice. He was glad, since it was beautiful, especially when she howls. 

"Goodbye, Aurora. I’ll see you soon." He ended the call. 

AJ was sent with Joey and Camila's M4's child to monitor Aurora/Aoooo after the voice chose her, posing as her childhood friend 'Ethan'. Because it was a randomizer, Bill thought it was just a glitch in the machine and left it be, focusing his attention only on Aurora/Aoooo because she was the newest vessel. At the same time, AJ was suppose to find a way to stop Bill's randomizer and destroy any other further and future plans. Since he was chosen by the voices before and Marril was the child of an Ace pokemon, the randomizer did not affect them, but it did Joey and his rattata since he was native to Johto, forgetting everything that happen back in Crystal. Aoooo was suppose to be a first run to break all the curses since it was going so smoothly, but as Helix stated, there is a price for orderly chaos.

The void that the other protagonists were inspired by Haberdashing's Wonderland Projects, where Red and AJ, with the Helix, watched Alice. I feel that because AJ was a Godslayer, despite following his rules, he does not have much respect for Lord Helix, which gives the others uneasy feelings. Camila is a proud supporter and is quick to retort and snap. Alice is quieter, but is friendlier towards AJ since she was a dome follower for some time (though, giving her predicament, the others understood her reasons with watchful eyes). Napoleon is quiet and believes that he's better than everyone. Red is pretty much stoic, having endure the most out of everyone and respect AJ since he defeated him, but to an extent. As for Aurora/Aoooo, I'm sticking with that 'she's cute and fluffy' type until the lore somehow changes :D
