FEEL FREE TO SLOW DOWN

Even the singer´s name takes time to understand: “Aðalbjörn Tryggvason”. When playing their concert on rockavaria-festival in Munich he didn´t say very much, just: “We are not familiar with the sun. We are from the other side of the world.” And he translated into Game of Thrones-speech: “We are from north of the wall.” Well, not exactly, the band Solstafir is from Iceland. And they did not bring fear and destruction, but dreamy psychedelic metal. “Slow metal” if such a thing can even exist.

Everyone speaks about the need to relax. Everyone complains about stress and too much work. There even are lessons in mindfulness and meditation in the big companies. Things can be easy. Just take the time to listen to one of the Solstafir tracks. You go on a journey into your inner landscape. Just don´t switch to the next song. Stay with one. Or visit one of their concerts like I just did in Munich. And you might even get free hugs from Aðalbjörn. Because that´s what he did in the end. He climbed from the stage hugging all the fans.
