etymology
before i get started, there is one thing that should be known: i base each of my characters off of a figure in buddhism + one of the seven main chakra. because of this, the etymology of their names are going to be steeped heavily in eastern ideology, mythology, etc. please bear in mind that i am not claiming to be an expert on buddhism or chakras.
rayana sagani
based on the bodhisattva vajrayana. the name sagani comes from the filipino name "isagani," which i was told by a friend means "one of a kind."

tantra vimala (in development)
based on the bodhisattva manjusri. the word tantra means "a hindu or buddhist mystical or ritual text." vimala is the pure land assigned to manjusri in the lotus sutra.

kanzen asvara
based on the bodhisattva commonly known as kwan-yin. like most buddhist saints, she is known by many names. avalokitasvara in india, kannon or kanzeon in japan, kwan-yin/quan-yin/guan-yin in china, (this list goes on). the first part of her name, "kan" comes from the japanese name + zen, the japanese school of mahayana buddhism.
ancestor: ayunin asvara; aka: the nucifera
ayunin is an anagram of of guan-yin without the g. nucifera is the species of lotus that is commonly known as the "sacred lotus."
the asvara symbol is the heart chakra; the sutra commonly associated with kwan-yin is the heart sutra.
