5/5 ⭐ Stuart Turton - The Seven Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle
I added this book to my TBR list ages ago, so long ago that I have already forgotten what it was about. Which is a good thing, I think, because this way it hit me hard with all the twists and turns. At first, I had no idea what it was about. There was supposed to be a murder but instead it was a man fumbling about with something like amnesia?! I was just as lost as he was.
But then things started to make more sense, I could pick up the pace and follow this complicated journey. And when I thought things finally became clear: ANOTHER PLOT TWIST.
It kept me on my toes! It was definitely one of the best books I’ve read in a while, I would definitely recommend it to everyone who likes fantasy and murder mysteries.
SO. GOOD. Honestly, I can’t tell you any more than this, because it would spoil it. This is all you need from the blurb:
“Tonight, Evelyn Hardcastle will be killed... again. It is meant to be a celebration, but it ends in tragedy. As fireworks explode overhead, Evelyn Hardcastle, the young and beautiful daughter of the house, is killed.”
Don’t read any more of it! Go into it blind and be shocked and try to figure things out with the protagonist. That way you can feel like you’re really a part of it. By the end, I could taste the solution I was so close, but nope, I did not see that ending coming. And I wasn’t mad, because it made sense. A really smart book. I love it!
