@joluvsfinnick - "what was never mine (part 1)" , "the role i played (part 2)" , "before i forget you (part 3)" , "sandcastles and second chances (part 4)"

the latest fic series that made me bawl at 2 AM in the morning ... but also has one of the most beautiful and heartbreaking writing that i've ever encountered. every emotion was framed beautifully to the point that you don't even have to experience what happened to reader just to relate, you just can, and it's an example of such wonderful language use that results in drawing out both the emotions of the characters and readers (also scared the shit out of me when you followed back .. UHM! HI)

2. @ssweeterthanfiction - "orbit (series)" ; whole masterlist

ORBIT IS ONE OF MY PERSONAL FAVES EVER! one of my favorite tropes is the estranged childhood best friends and oh my goddd, they delivered! it's so cute (admittedly, i have yet to read chapter 5 because i saw "angst" in all caps and i got scared so now i've been putting it off HAHAHA) also, also, on one of the many authors in the finnick tag whose masterlist i binge-read because their au's are so good.

3. @humaling - "two victors, one closet (discontinued for now)" ; "mother's day special" ; whole masterlist

oh god, where do i even start? angst-wise, humaling is my best bet when it comes to that. she's really amazing with words and one of my inspos in coming back to writing. love her use of figurative language, similar to how i liked joluvsfinnick's. "two victors, one closet" is just seared into my brain because it was the first fic i read from her, and "mother's day special" is so cute because finnick would be such a cute manliligaw. and also another author whose masterlist i binged.

4. @ivymirrorball768 - "hey, little songbird"

I JUST FOUND OUT THE AUTHOR OF MY FAVORITE FINNICK FIC IN AO3 IS HERE ... i don't know if this tag is still alive, but i'm gonnna ramble either way ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ i love the fic sm enough to talk about it again. every character and the arena is so fleshed out to the point that you can actually tell me that this was in the books and i'd believe you. i'm a sucker for slowburn, so i'm invested in this fic fr fr. ADDITIONALLY, "hadestown" references ... as a musical nerd that spoke to me it called my name like a siren REAL

5. @ellecdc - "allies and torment" ; "blood rain" ; "still? always." ; whole finnick masterlist

girl atp i'm out of words because all i'm going to say is she's another amazing writer. i also read her other fics besides the finnick ones, and they're really good. part of the reason why i like her writing so much is that the flow is really smooth and natural, and an example is "allies and torment" because as a shy person - how'd you take my mind and describe it exactly the way i would react? "blood rain" is also really good dialogue work because you can hear them as in-character conversations that could actually happen. "still? always" need i say more? a wonderful take on the hijacked!reader prompt.

note : i'll post part two either tomorrow or ... next week :3c i have more authors that i really like here. maybe i can rec some ao3 fics if anybody wants, i'll see ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

mizisua fic recs ( a.k.a. my fave lesbian yearners )

"fragment missing" by telegonus (another fic of theirs that i loved! it's more in ivan's POV of how he viewed mizisua's relationship. broke me when he started talking about sua's the only one who could understand him and the slight jealous tone when he recounted how she loved and was loved back UGHHH)

the first post of rosa’s that i read was twst characters hitting the wall while staring at mc, and i thought: “op’s really good” and i ended up falling in love w/ her fake dating hcs THEY R SO SO GOOD. i love the diversity of the scenarios, and ofc, leona’s part is my favorite because it’s leona (plus! the spy x family scene was very fitting, and i love the slow burn 💕 💕 💕)

my faves: masterlist ; (also this jamil fic, where mc found out he only dated her to spite kalim)

yes... i... binged her whole masterlist... because everything was so heartwarming and i absolutely love them <3 words cannot convey how much i love re-reading all of laurie’s fics, especially her milestone fics!!

i ABSOLUTELY adore her papa crewel au and mc as the queen’s attendant au. (part of why i like the mc as asha’s attendant au is the romantic development with leona, PLUS mc getting treated well by asha and how the whole kingscholar family ships mc and leona JSHJAHFJ) ALSO? THAT MRS. ROSEHEARTS AS THE HEADMASTER WAS SO GOOD, I WAS EATING UP ALL THE ANGST

guess what: ✨ more angst ✨ pompk’s black sheep expansion event fed me enough twst sibling angst to last me a YEAR, and i am eternally grateful for them. i can’t really describe it well, but the way they word their fics just makes it easy for the reader to feel the pain of the character. binge their masterlist, and you won’t regret it.

my faves: THEIR WHOLE HEROES VS. VILLAINS SERIES - octavinelle part 1 ; pomefiore part 1 ; diasomnia part 1 ; nrc staff part 1

THEY ARE SO BIG BRAINED FOR WRITING THAT SERIES, LIKE THE EMOTIONAL DAMAGE (/pos? we like angst okay) MY FRIEND AND I HAD WHEN WE READ THE NRC STAFF’S WAS SO INTENSE (/hj).

i’m amazed at the way they weave humor, angst, and fluff so seamlessly, and the way they capture how someone rational would react to all of the things happening to them in twst (mc’s troubles in nrc, their breaking point - UGH, SO GOOD). plus, the moral dilemmas that come along with being friends with the twst boys and how being too good can either come off as insensitive (prince rielle dismissing azul’s improvements to know mc instead) or y’know, privileged (just seeing the world in a black and white lens when there’s so many morally grey areas), etc.

I MIGHT BE LOOKING TOO DEEP INTO THIS, BUT LIKE, JUST READ THEIR WORKS AND YOU’LL UNDERSTAND

my faves: making a tied fleece blanket for the nrc first years ; shrimpy’s at it again (savanaclaw) ; when the prefect helps crewel grade tests for extra credit ; lmao just going to link their whole masterlist ‘cause everything’s a banger

have you ever felt so giddy after reading such a tooth-rotting sweet fic that you just had to kick your feet up or scream into your pillow? ‘cause that’s what’s reading their fluff makes me do

BUT THEN, THEY WRITE SUCH A HEARTBREAKING FIC THAT CAN SOCK YOU IN THE GUT. i love the 180, the absolute skill that takes

OH, AND THEY HAVE THE CUTEST SMAUS, like scrolling through their writing makes me forget the time passing by LOL, everything is such a joy to read, be it fluff or angst!

my faves: being reincarnated into a new world as the bad guy ; legend has it (twst series)

ARE YOU AN ISEKAI VILLAINESS ROFAN HOE LIKE ME? WELL, I’VE GOT JUST THE WRITER FOR YOU! coral’s series incorporates the characters of twst and isekai villainess tropes so well. she’s able to keep wonderful characterizations, while giving unique and individual plots to each character! (ugh, leona and vil’s *chef’s kiss*) 

ALSO ALSO, i love love love the legend has it series ‘cause it features different horror stories and legends (as a person who’s very enamored with mythical beings, this was right up my alley)

note: amazing how more articulate my fangirling is when i do it in the afternoon LOL
