AP Contactless Tools
The simple AP (Analysis and Projection) Contactless Tools consist of two entangled components: A robust heat, water, fire, EMP and shock-resistant visual display with a hardened case, and the so-called "Time Stick", which is shaped like a handheld laser pointer. It is a continuation of older experiments, such as the "Electronic Sniffer" or Electronic Nose.
The stick can generally pick up physical information within its conical 45° angle and a range up to 10m, and also project both holographic or 2D information onto a surface. The reader can extrude vapor to strengthen the spatial visibility of the projection/hologram. It's customized x-ray beamer can also penetrate through objects and test for matching chemical or physical elements by probing them without contact.
The pointer's name "Time Stick" derives from its intriguing function to revert scanned areas backwards in time by accessing a certain method of "quantum imprinting" and - within the hologram - projecting the molecular constellation of the scanned area slightly above the target surface, so that previous evidence or situations can be seen - think safecracking, reverse keylogging or finding presence.
Other features are still classified under Special Access Programs (SAP) - despite these tools having rather simple use cases.
