They really like meat too - like, my flock gets stupidly excited over bacon, ham and prawns. And the time they ate the baby rats. However, if they are fed chicken, they will actually pluck and peck one another, sometimes to bleeding. I think that's a little more fucked then the whole eggs thing imo.

I think it encourages cannibalism bc of the way the chicken is prepared then. It’s… kinda scary so I guess everything in moderation and no cooked chicken around them allowed? Yowza chickens get more and more scary by the day

Not sure where the chicken stuff started but hey. Chickens shoudn't really be eating their eggs that often (at least in my experience). They normally do that when they are missing something from their diet (eggies and their protein, and shells for calcium if they are weak). Sometimes they just do that when they are bored though lmao. And feeding their shells back can be good for laying, but generally I go with grit so they don't get a 'taste' for their eggs.

I usually ask my mother about farming stuff since she used to grow up on a farm when she was a babby and she didn’t mention much about the chickens doing that (mostly bc she was scared of them) but this sounds legit too yo
